A gubernatorial runoff between incumbent Kenneth Mapp and Democratic challenger Albert Bryan has been scheduled for Nov. 20.<\/p>\n

Tom Perez, chair of the Democratic Party, expressed his support for high turnout in the run-off election on November 20:<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to the Democratic Party of the Virgin Islands on a successful election. They sent a supermajority — a historic proportion of Democrats — to the 33rd Legislature and re-elected Democratic Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, as well as the majority of members of the Boards of Election and Education.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t let up now. It is critical that people turn out in record numbers and work tirelessly to help elect Albert Bryan and Tregenza Roach for governor and lieutenant governor in the November 20 runoff election. As Secretary of Labor under the Obama administration, my office worked closely with Albert when he was the Virgin Islands Commissioner. He is an excellent leader and manager, and I know he is the right person to lead the Virgin Islands.\u201d<\/p>\n
