The reality is that Trump has failed to deliver on his promises, and costs continue to skyrocket. It\u2019s clear why <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/417832-more-americans-trust-democrats-than-gop-to-lower-drug-prices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a majority<\/a> of Americans trust Democrats over Trump and Republicans to lower prescription drug costs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">LIE: Trump said his administration has taken bold action to reduce drug costs, and took credit for Pfizer cancelling price hikes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?454928-1\/president-trump-holds-rally-biloxi-mississippi&amp;start=2654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe have taken bold action to reduce the cost of prescription drugs. Drug prices are starting to come down. Drug companies, a number of months ago, were going to raise their prices. I actually called up the heads of Pfizer and Novartis and others. I said you can&#8217;t do that. You can&#8217;t raise your prices. And you know what they did? They brought them down, they didn&#8217;t raise them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">REALITY: Trump has failed to lower drug costs, and Pfizer recently announced they would raise prices next year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/11\/16\/pfizer-to-raise-some-drug-prices-despite-pressure-from-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a>: \u201cPfizer will raise prices on 41 of its prescription drugs in January after initially putting off those plans this summer amid pressure from President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">MEANWHILE: Americans continue to struggle with skyrocketing prescription drug costs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAmong the protesters was Antoinette Worsham of Cincinnati, Ohio who carried the ashes of her 22-year-old daughter Antavia in a small vial. She died last year after being forced to ration insulin she couldn\u2019t afford at $1,000 a month. \u2018It\u2019s either pay your rent, pay your car payment or get your medication,\u2019 said Worsham.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/boston.cbslocal.com\/2018\/11\/16\/insulin-cost-protest-cambridge-sanofi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mother of a child who died after trying to ration insulin<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/tzdtYmY_MKDLiOckX87StYt8wIES9ICC6VuI8PNFbf4e635XjAqDhOd7Exbf5TapVpRJ-Eq_mhfADqy2QtTgRPeSA06shTB6cbvrEqBPIjBEr1anRMMKuyEZCesNhI7ACRYt_3sM\" width=\"419\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cNicole Smith-Holt\u2019s 26-year-old son Alex also died last year when she could no longer carry him on her insurance and Alex couldn\u2019t afford his own. \u2018Unfortunately within 27 days of having no insurance he was found dead in his apartment because he couldn\u2019t afford the insulin,\u2019 Smith-Holt said.
