Following Kevin McCarthy\u2019s lead, House Republicans are falling<\/a> in line to use the powers of Congress as a political tool for Donald Trump\u2019s 2024 campaign. In response, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Ammar Moussa released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSpeaker Trump is at it again, demanding that Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans pursue political payback for his own bipartisan impeachments while making a mockery of the House of Representatives \u2014 all to serve Trump\u2019s 2024 campaign. McCarthy has done Trump\u2019s bidding at every turn, and this is yet another reminder that Trump and the MAGA majority are the ones actually running the show. While Trump ramps up the pressure on McCarthy to waste the American people\u2019s time and money on partisan opportunism, President Biden and Democrats will keep working to deliver real results for hardworking families.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other candidates in the 2024 Republican field have lined up behind Trump in calling for an impeachment inquiry into baseless claims.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
