As the Biden-Harris administration takes immense steps to tackle the climate crisis, MAGA Republicans \u2014 including a slew of 2024 GOP hopefuls \u2014 still dabble in climate change denialism, and are even attempting to roll back the progress President Biden and Democrats are making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Biden remains focused on tackling the climate crisis head-on with new actions to provide relief to Americans facing extreme heat. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cPresident Joe Biden will travel to Arizona, New Mexico and Utah next week and is expected to talk about his administration\u2019s efforts to combat climate change as the region endures a brutally hot summer with soaring temperatures \u2026 Biden is expected to discuss the Inflation Reduction Act, America\u2019s most significant response to climate change, and the push toward more clean energy manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cWith heat waves spreading across the United States, President Joe Biden on Thursday announced new steps to protect workers \u2014 including a hazard alert notifying employers and employees about ways to stay safe from extreme heat \u2014 as well as measures to improve weather forecasts and make drinking water more accessible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast, MAGA Republicans running for president have cozied up to Big Oil and Big Gas and railed against efforts to combat the climate crisis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cOver four years, the Trump<\/strong> administration dismantled major climate policies and rolled back many more rules governing clean air, water, wildlife and toxic chemicals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Ward, Politico<\/a>: \u201cPence<\/strong> says that there will be \u2018modest\u2019 temperature changes over the next century. The UN estimates that average Earth temperatures will rise by about 3 degrees above preindustrial levels by the first half of 2030, which could have severe consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cRon DeSantis <\/strong>has been accused of a \u2018catastrophic\u2019 approach to the climate crisis after he launched his campaign for US president by saying he rejects the \u2018politicization of the weather\u2019 and questioning whether hurricanes hitting his home state of Florida have been worsened by climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cThe Earth\u2019s surface area is covered with more plant life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not a crisis.\u2019 \u2026 Scarborough pointed out that recent years have been uncharacteristically hot, shattering temperature records, but Christie<\/strong> was skeptical. \u2018I don\u2019t buy that, Joe. … I don\u2019t see any evidence that it\u2019s a crisis,\u2019 Christie said. When asked what scientific data he was relying on for evidence, Christie pointed not to specific studies or charts but to his own intuition. \u2018That\u2019s my feeling,\u2019 he said. \u2018I didn\u2019t say I was relying on any scientist.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaitlan Collins, CNN<\/a>: \u201cNorth Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum<\/strong> doesn\u2019t say whether he believes humans are to blame for global warming as a new analysis finds extreme heat waves were made significantly more likely by the human-caused climate crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congressional Republicans are also waging war on President Biden\u2019s Inflation Reduction Act<\/strong> <\/em><\/strong>and its historic investments in tackling the climate crisis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
