Even House Republicans are coming out and showing the jig is up on their political push to attack President Biden in their bid to run cover for Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McCarthy\u2019s baseless impeachment crusade against President Biden is such a waste of time and energy that even *checks notes* <\/strong>House Republicans<\/em><\/strong> can see right through McCarthy\u2019s shameless political games. <\/strong>
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cGOP Colorado Rep. Ken Buck, a member of the hardline Freedom Caucus who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, has previously accused McCarthy of engaging in \u2018impeachment theater.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd one GOP lawmaker, granted anonymity to speak more freely, offered an even blunter assessment: \u2018There\u2019s no evidence that Joe Biden got money, or that Joe Biden, you know, agreed to do something so that Hunter could get money. There\u2019s just no evidence of that. And they can\u2019t impeach without that evidence. And I don\u2019t I don\u2019t think the evidence exists.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cOther GOP lawmakers, however, say they are not ready to take the plunge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I think before we move on to [an] impeachment inquiry, we should \u2026 there should be a direct link to the president in some evidence,\u2019 Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told The Hill in an interview. \u2018We should have some clear evidence of a high crime or misdemeanor, not just assuming there may be one. I think we need to have more concrete evidence to go down that path.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it weren\u2019t obvious enough that McCarthy is orchestrating this pointless impeachment inquiry to appease Speaker Trump, Trump\u2019s latest Truth Social post shows that he\u2019s (impatiently) waiting for McCarthy to follow through. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melanie Zanona, CNN<\/a>: \u201cMeanwhile.. Trump\u2019s patience with Republicans is starting to wear thin: Yesterday, he complained on Truth Social that the House GOP isn\u2019t moving fast enough on a Biden impeachment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Either IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION,\u2019 he wrote.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cBacon said McCarthy, before the August recess, told GOP lawmakers during a conference meeting he was opposed to an impeachment inquiry and needed more direct evidence pointing to the president before launching an investigation. The moderate Republican now wants to know what changed in McCarthy\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I think it\u2019s gonna be something he\u2019s gonna have to sell us on,\u2019 Bacon said of opening an inquiry. \u2018Because when we \u2026 before we went on break, he said he was opposed to an inquiry.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
