Ramaswamy is doubling down on his extreme climate denial agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linsey Davis<\/a>: \u201cDo you believe in climate change?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy: \u201cWell, I think that with due respect, I’ve talked about this in other forums, \u201cDo you believe in climate change?\u201d is not really a meaningful question, because climate change has existed as long as the Earth has existed. Do I believe it is a fact that global surface temperatures are rising over the course of the last century and the last half century? Yes, I think that that is an established trend\u2013\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davis: \u201cAs president, would you do anything to try to buck that trend?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy: \u201cNo is the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy dismissed actions to combat the climate crisis as a \u201choax\u201d at last month\u2019s Republican debate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy<\/a>: \u201cThe climate change agenda is a hoax \u2026 The reality is more people are dying of bad climate change policies than they are of actual climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post Fact Checker<\/a>: \u201cNo matter how you slice it, credible research has concluded that thousands of people a year die because of the effects of climate change. We can\u2019t find data that suggests green energy policies actually kill even more people \u2014 and Ramaswamy\u2019s campaign did not provide any source for his claim. He earns Four Pinocchios.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy has been spreading climate denialism over and over again on the campaign trail. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy<\/a>: \u201cThe Earth\u2019s surface area is covered with more plant life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

today than 50 years ago – because, yes, carbon is plant food and surface temperatures are a little higher. More facts that you\u2019ll never hear from the Church of Climate Change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des Moines Register<\/a>: \u201cIn Iowa, Vivek Ramaswamy finds Republican voters share his disdain of climate change\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cVivek Ramaswamy says US \u2018climate change agenda\u2019 is a \u2018hoax\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cHe similarly described \u2018climatism\u2019 as \u2018prioritizing the goal of containing climate change at all costs,\u2019 and suggested that fossil fuel and nuclear-powered advances could be used to adapt to and overcome climate change. (Climate scientists are clear that avoiding the worst effects of climate change requires moving away from fossil fuels.)\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Republicans running for president have not only denied the existence of climate change, but they also have consistent records of supporting policies that would bring us backward in our efforts to combat it. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cOver four years, the Trump<\/strong> administration dismantled major climate policies and rolled back many more rules governing clean air, water, wildlife and toxic chemicals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cRon DeSantis <\/strong>has been accused of a \u2018catastrophic\u2019 approach to the climate crisis after he launched his campaign for US president by saying he rejects the \u2018politicization of the weather\u2019 and questioning whether hurricanes hitting his home state of Florida have been worsened by climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State<\/a>: \u201cTim Scott<\/strong> signed onto a letter signed by other Republican senators asking Trump to revoke the landmark deal to combat climate change agreed to by almost 200 nations in the French capital in 2015. The letter, sent to Trump last week, congratulates him on rolling back climate regulations.\u201d

Alex Ward, Politico<\/a>: \u201cPence<\/strong> says that there will be \u2018modest\u2019 temperature changes over the next century. The UN estimates that average Earth temperatures will rise by about 3 degrees above preindustrial levels by the first half of 2030, which could have severe consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Hill<\/a>: \u201cAs U.N. ambassador during the Trump administration, Haley<\/strong> played a key role in the former president\u2019s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, which she touts on her campaign website.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reuters<\/a>: \u201cThe governors of five Republican states are ready to fight Democratic President-elect Joe Biden if he tries to require the power sector to slash greenhouse gas emissions. \u2026 \u2018Our power companies have voluntarily embraced sources of alternative energy without heavy-handed regulation from<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HuffPost<\/a>: \u201cWhen asked by Joe Scarborough on MSNBC\u2019s \u2018Morning Joe\u2019 on Tuesday whether he believes climate change is occurring and man-made, the New Jersey governor replied, \u2018The climate has been changing forever and it will always change and man will always contribute to it. It\u2019s not a crisis.\u2019 \u2026 Scarborough pointed out that recent years have been uncharacteristically hot, shattering temperature records, but Christie<\/strong> was skeptical. \u2018I don\u2019t buy that, Joe. … I don\u2019t see any evidence that it\u2019s a crisis,\u2019 Christie said. When asked what scientific data he was relying on for evidence, Christie pointed not to specific studies or charts but to his own intuition. \u2018That\u2019s my feeling,\u2019 he said. \u2018I didn\u2019t say I was relying on any scientist.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
