Another day, another news cycle making Donald Trump\u2019s influence over MAGA House Republicans clear. New reporting shows some extreme House GOP members falling in line and echoing Trump\u2019s calls for a government shutdown if their laundry list of extreme partisan demands isn\u2019t met. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New reporting shows the latest on MAGA House Republicans throwing their support behind Trump\u2019s call to shut down the government. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Punchbowl News<\/a>: \u201cSeveral House conservatives are rallying around former President Donald Trump\u2019s repeated calls to oppose a short-term stopgap funding bill as Congress faces a government shutdown deadline in just five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) phoned Trump during a town hall event on Friday. Greene talked about her opposition to any CR that doesn\u2019t include new border security provisions. The Georgia Republican also wants to bar any new Ukraine funding and defund the DOJ and FBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s no secret that Trump, the leading GOP contender in the 2024 presidential election, still has enormous influence over rank-and-file Republicans. Trump has consistently supported the House\u2019s hardline conservatives this Congress, although he also backed Kevin McCarthy\u2019s ascent to speaker in January.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just this morning, Trump\u2019s latest call to arms to congressional Republicans was to \u201cSHUT IT DOWN\u201d if their extreme MAGA budget demands aren\u2019t met. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
