Two MAGA extremists trying desperately to masquerade as moderates, Sununu and Haley most recently teamed up to support notorious election denier Don Bolduc after they both said they wouldn\u2019t support candidates who put our democracy in danger in 2020. But it doesn\u2019t stop there: Haley and Sununu are in lockstep behind the rest of the MAGA agenda, backing extreme abortion bans, attacking affordable health care, supporting ending Social Security and Medicare as we know it, and backing tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy. Haley and her deeply unpopular agenda would lose next year regardless of today\u2019s endorsement, but Sununu\u2019s support is the nail in the coffin.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley made notorious election denier Don Bolduc her New Hampshire campaign chair, and she spent last year campaigning with election deniers after saying she was not supporting candidates who supported Trump\u2019s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/video\/nikki-haley-talks-powerful-women-who-inspired-her-new-book-149752389789\">Haley<\/a> in October 2022: \u201cEverybody that I\u2019m helping acknowledges the fact that the elections, you know, were real.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/19\/election-deniers-campaign-2024\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: <strong>\u201c[Haley] has endorsed and campaigned with a slate of Senate candidates who reject or question the 2020 election results<\/strong> as she positions herself as a potential 2024 presidential candidate. Haley appeared at a rally Tuesday with Don Bolduc of New Hampshire, who insisted Trump won the election and that President Biden was illegitimate &#8230; She also campaigned with Adam Laxalt of Nevada, who led the Trump campaign\u2019s efforts to overturn the results in that state. And she endorsed Ted Budd of North Carolina, who as a congressman voted against certifying the electoral college results on Jan. 6, 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deseret.com\/2023\/9\/5\/23860030\/nikki-haley-new-hampshire-bolduc\">Deseret News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cNikki Haley adds controversial former U.S. Senate candidate to campaign team\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDon Bolduc, a retired Army general and former U.S. Senate candidate, is the new chair for Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley\u2019s New Hampshire campaign, the Haley campaign announced Tuesday morning. Bolduc made national headlines during his 2022 Senate campaign \u2026 for his controversial views on COVID-19 and the 2020 election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NikkiHaley\/status\/1670801115057737729\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWe\u2019re glad [Bolduc\u2019s] on our team.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-endorsed-top-trump-ally-ralph-norman-says-gop-needs-new-leadership\">Fox News<\/a>: \u201cFormer UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has secured the endorsement of a top Trump ally, House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Ralph Norman. \u2026 His support comes despite former President Donald Trump&#8217;s endorsement of his re-election the 2022 midterm elections and also after <strong>Norman did not vote to certify the 2020 election, in a nod to his loyalty to Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sununu also endorsed and embraced Bolduc after calling him a \u201cconspiracy theorist-type candidate\u201d \u2013&nbsp;and Sununu has a history of supporting Trump\u2019s election fraud conspiracies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seacoastcurrent.com\/sununu-does-about-face-on-u-s-senate-candidate-bolduc\/\">Seacoast Current<\/a>: <strong>\u201cGov. Chris Sununu, who denounced Republican U.S. Senate candidate Don Bolduc as a \u2018conspiracy theorist-type candidate\u2019 recently referred to him as an \u2018amazing individual,\u2019 in a Fox News interview.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Lb3t4l9AgWfWb3ltFguSPB0Y0bdJYJcZ\/view?usp=sharing\">Sununu<\/a>: <strong>\u201cAnd this early voting stuff is difficult, and mail-in voting \u2013&nbsp;I don\u2019t like any of it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmur.com\/article\/sununu-says-nh-dems-practice-election-fraud-says-hell-fix-rigged-system\/8063689?mc_cid=f045616a93&amp;mc_eid=bab5d0c934\">WMUR<\/a>: \u201cChris Sununu told conservative Boston radio talk show host Howie Carr on Monday he believes New Hampshire Democrats have practiced election fraud in the Granite State for many years. Carr asked Sununu why Democrats have repeatedly won gubernatorial elections. Sununu replied, \u2018The Democrats got very sly. When they first took over in the late 1990s and early 2000s, they changed the election laws. \u2018We have same day voter registration, and to be honest, when Massachusetts elections are not very close, they\u2019re busing them in all over the place,\u2019 Sununu said. \u2026 \u2018There\u2019s no doubt there\u2019s election fraud here,\u2019 Sununu said. He said \u2018rigged\u2019 is \u2018the word you\u2019re not supposed to use anymore. But they have really gamed the system in their advantage.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2019\/08\/17\/trump-still-blaming-his-new-hampshire-loss-voter-fraud-with-zero-proof\/xpIFyQLOP0O3RgVjlZprKL\/story.html\">Boston Globe<\/a>: \u201cTrump is still blaming his 2016 New Hampshire loss on voter fraud \u2014 with zero proof\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley has pledged her support for extreme abortion bans before many women know they\u2019re pregnant and has made clear that she would sign any nationwide abortion ban that landed on her desk, while Sununu has bragged about signing New Hampshire\u2019s first abortion ban in 40 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/11\/17\/us\/politics\/nikki-haley-abortion-six-weeks.html\">New York Times<\/a>: <strong>\u201cNikki Haley Says She Would Have Signed Six-Week Abortion Ban as Governor\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1725661144570847679?s=20\">Bob Vander Plaats<\/a>: <strong>\u201cIf you were governor of South Carolina and that came to your desk, would you sign the heartbeat bill?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley:<strong> \u201cYes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/playbook\/2023\/11\/18\/biden-vs-haley-on-abortion-00127929\">Politico<\/a>: \u201cHaley, who \u2018often clashed with members of her party because she labeled them insufficiently conservative\u2019 on abortion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2018co-sponsored legislation in 2009 mandating a 24-hour waiting period between a woman\u2019s abortion consultation and the procedure itself\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018voted to end abortion coverage for victims of rape and incest in the state health plan for employees\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u2018signed the most conservative abortion bill South Carolina Republicans were able to pass through both chambers at the time,\u2019 and the law did not include exceptions for rape and incest.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1722446891986608467\">Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley: <strong>\u201cI would support anything that would pass.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DNCWarRoom\/status\/1703863713571492104?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhatever we can get 60 Senate votes on, isn\u2019t that better than what we have now? And if it\u2019s\u2013 if it\u2019s six weeks, that\u2019s great. If it\u2019s 15 weeks, that\u2019s great.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-2024-republican-candidate-vows-sign-federal-abortion-ban-elected-president\">Fox News<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley, 2024 Republican candidate, vows to sign federal abortion ban if elected president\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MegKinnardAP\/status\/1661366658156445699?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cYes of course I would sign [a federal ban].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newhampshirebulletin.com\/2022\/05\/12\/sununu-touts-new-hampshires-abortion-ban-on-national-podcast\/\">New Hampshire Bulletin<\/a>: \u201cSununu touts New Hampshire\u2019s abortion ban on national podcast\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newhampshirebulletin.com\/2022\/05\/12\/sununu-touts-new-hampshires-abortion-ban-on-national-podcast\/\">Sununu<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve done more on the pro-life issue, if you will, than anyone. \u2026 <strong>Well, look, I\u2019m the first governor in 40 years to sign an abortion ban.<\/strong> Republican governors before me never signed that. I\u2019ve done more on the pro-life issue, if you will, than anyone. \u2026 <strong>We got that done.<\/strong> And that was a 40-year challenge, and we actually did it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley and Sununu both opposed the Affordable Care Act and railed against Medicaid expansion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1QWrsqvEgMqZheYFalXZW61BFiWF6LbUf\/view\">Jack Heath<\/a>: \u201cThey&#8217;re going ahead and saying you would repeal the Affordable Care Act, would you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley: \u201cIt&#8217;s not about one small policy of, you know, Affordable Care Act. It&#8217;s about fixing the entire health care system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1VJDbtILOOTspTZX8vdpJllFmGNcncgCL\/view\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWe have fought Obamacare in South Carolina as much as we possibly could.<\/strong> We said no to the state exchanges. We said no to the Medicaid expansion. \u2026 They just turned and set every state back with this bill that we know did not work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/politics-government\/article14441192.html\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWhen it came to Obamacare, we didn\u2019t just say \u2018no,\u2019 we said \u2018never.\u2019 \u2026 And we\u2019re going to keep on fighting until we get people like [Senator Tim Scott] and everybody else in Congress to defund Obamacare.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/4178700\/nikki-haley-republican-response-state-of-the-union-transcript\/\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWe would end a disastrous health care program<\/strong>, and replace it with reforms that lowered costs and actually let you keep your doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/meet-the-press\/meetthepressblog\/nikki-haley-stands-key-issues-rcna70838\">NBC News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cHaley opposed efforts to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act<\/strong> (South Carolina remains just one of 11 states that hasn\u2019t expanded Medicaid to allow more Americans to have health insurance).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1BXkZvFiiVtEBYfafH29n_ax8VapZVM8w\/view\">Haley<\/a>: \u2018They\u2019re trying to throw Obamacare and tell us that we have to bust our budgets and expand Medicaid. \u2026 Not in South Carolina. <strong>As long as I am the governor of South Carolina, we will not expand Medicaid<\/strong> on President Obama\u2019s watch. <strong>We will not expand Medicaid ever.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/girardatlarge\/09-09-2016-1b?in=girardatlarge\/sets\/09-09-2016\">Sununu<\/a>: \u201cI say this as an employer with 800 employees, as an employer who is constantly battling <strong>Obamacare, which is a disaster, it has failed, and must be repealed <\/strong>\u2014 we in the private sector are constantly being pushed to push our employees onto public sector plans, whether it\u2019s the healthcare exchange, whether it\u2019s expanded Medicaid. There is all this incentive to go there. \u2026 It\u2019s a failed idea and a failed system. \u2026 <strong>Expanded Medicaid is part of that problem.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhpr.org\/nh-news\/2019-07-08\/with-17-000-facing-penalty-n-h-delays-medicaid-work-requirement\">NHPR<\/a>: \u201cDuring the first month of a new Medicaid work requirement in New Hampshire, nearly 17,000 recipients were out of compliance, prompting Gov. Chris Sununu to announce Monday that the law\u2019s penalties will be delayed through September.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley and Sununu both want to put cuts for Social Security and Medicare on the table.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/haley-social-security-medicare-president-2024-0b6ea12f7ee8c650ce2de4bf2df5a787\">Associated Press<\/a>: <strong>\u201cRepublican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is proposing changes to entitlement programs for younger generations, opening the door to potential cuts to Social Security and Medicare if elected.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/02\/09\/trump-desantis-biden-social-security-medicare\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U. N. ambassador who is planning to announce her own presidential bid this month, also praised Ryan\u2019s Medicare proposal at the time and said lawmakers should examine Medicare and Social Security spending to address federal debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201c\u2018What they need to be doing is looking at entitlements,\u2019 Haley said in a 2010 interview on Fox News. \u2018Look at Social Security. Look at Medicaid. Look at Medicare. Look at these things, and let\u2019s actually go to the heart of what is causing government to grow, and tackle that.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DNCWarRoom\/status\/1695084769321595388?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cAny candidate that says they\u2019re not going to touch entitlements, means that they\u2019re basically going to go into office and leave America bankrupt. \u2026 We change retirement age to reflect life expectancy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Jgfxz7l52ea-DHXPgS9-2T3N6mGM6ich\/view\">Andrew Ross Sorkin<\/a>: \u201cAre you on board with cutting entitlements in a big and meaningful way?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley: \u201cSocial security goes bankrupt in 10 years, Medicare goes bankrupt in eight. <strong>Anyone that says they&#8217;re not going to take on entitlement reform means they&#8217;re going to go in and be president and leave the country bankrupt.<\/strong> You can&#8217;t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/newsletter\/02\/09\/2023\/do-2024-republicans-have-a-tea-party-problem\">Semafor<\/a>: \u201cAs governor of South Carolina at the time, Nikki Haley praised the [Paul Ryan] fiscal blueprint for \u2018trying to bring common sense to this world of insanity.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/politics\/sununu-calls-dem-gop-promises-not-to-reform-social-security-medicare-ludicrous\/3302379\/\">NBC4<\/a>: \u201c\u2018A lot of different things that can be done, but something has to be done,\u2019 Sununu said. \u2018You can give people options in terms of either how to invest those dollars, the government tying [investments] to index funds, whatever it might be.\u2019 <strong>Sununu said he was open to all reforms \u2014 including privatization<\/strong> \u2014 as long as dialogue was happening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ruthlesspodcast.com\/episodes\/chris-sununu-should-run-for-senate\">Sununu<\/a>: \u201c\u200b\u200bThe politics will take care of itself. <strong>So, you&#8217;ve got to get [reforming Medicare] done.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1-peaALYehbIHMVZG-v_cCm73bpjxunde\/view?usp=sharing\">Sununu<\/a>: \u201cWe are constantly borrowing money from around the world to pay interest, which doesn&#8217;t make any sense. \u2026 <strong>But I don&#8217;t see a whole lot of change out of Washington to address [reforming Social Security].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley and Sununu both support Trump\u2019s MAGAnomics tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations, which Haley wants to make permanent after she spent years putting the rich and powerful over working families as governor.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2023\/06\/12\/presidential-candidate-nikki-haley-energy-independence-is-key-to-national-security.html\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWell I think what I\u2019d like to see is us go back to what Trump had under the tax cuts under him \u2026 I was there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/aikenstandard\/news\/s-c-lawmakers-arent-looking-to-tax-increases-to-fill-budget\/article_f34b6130-581a-553b-89e8-8a6af45be330.html\">Aiken Standard<\/a>: \u201cGov.-elect Nikki Haley, who takes office next week, campaigned on eliminating the state\u2019s corporate income tax.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augustachronicle.com\/story\/news\/2012\/03\/25\/haley-says-eliminating-corporate-income-taxes-will-help-bring-jobs\/14503111007\/\">Augusta Chronicle<\/a>: \u201cState budget advisers predict eliminating South Carolina\u2019s corporate income tax over four years, as both Haley and House Republicans propose, would reduce state revenues by $61.6 million in the first year and $218.3 million annually when the phase-out is complete.\u201d<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcax.com\/content\/news\/Sununu-calls-Trump-tax-plan-a-win-for-Americans-450132643.html\">WCAX<\/a>: <strong>\u201cSununu calls Trump tax plan a win for Americans\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu\u2019s endorsement of Nikki Haley, DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement:\u00a0 \u201cChris Sununu knows a loser when he sees one \u2013 and he\u2019s found his next flop in Nikki Haley.
