MAGA Republicans stooped to new lows this week with their extremism, hypocrisy, chaos, and \u2014 as President Biden would call it \u2014 malarkey. In case you missed it: Trump doubled down on his Hitler-esque rhetoric about immigrants, all while expressing admiration for dictators such as Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Viktor Orban, and Xi Jinping; Trump is campaigning on extending his disastrous MAGAnomics tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy; Trump is boasting about his plan to rip away the Affordable Care Act, which would jeopardize health care for millions of Americans; and Nikki Haley called for a national abortion ban three times last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Meanwhile, Senator Tommy Tuberville was disappointed that Trump\u2019s authoritarian rant against immigrants didn\u2019t go far enough, and in 2024 we\u2019ll be saying McBye to McCarthy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump can\u2019t stop praising the world\u2019s worst dictators and echoing the likes of Hitler and Mussolini, doubling down on his claim that immigrants are \u201cpoisoning the blood of our country.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper<\/a>: \u201cIf you were to open up a copy of Hitler\u2019s \u2018Mein Kampf,\u2019 you would find the Nazi leader describing the mixing of non-Germans with Germans as \u2018poisoning.\u2019 \u2026 There\u2019s really no other way to say it. Donald Trump\u2019s language mirrors this directly.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cTrump Channels Hitler With \u2018Poison the Blood\u2019 Reference at Dictator-Friendly Rally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABC News<\/a>: \u201cTrump spent his latest rally in New Hampshire praising multiple authoritarian leaders and quoting Russian President Vladimir Putin to try and discredit the criminal indictments against him.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cPresident Xi of China, powerful kind of a guy. \u2026 He controls 1.4 billion people rather ruthlessly.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201c[Kim Jong Un] is not so fond of this administration but he\u2019s fond of me \u2026 He doesn\u2019t like this particular group of people and I understand exactly why.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSNBC\u2019s Jen Psaki<\/a>: \u201cTrump is clearly slipping in this vile, violent language more and more. A dictatorial speech there, an authoritarian Truth Social post here. He is trying to normalize his extreme, fascist rhetoric to condition his supporters to be okay with it.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is doubling down on his promise to make permanent and extend his disastrous MAGAnomics tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Messenger<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Donald Trump<\/strong> said he is \u2018seriously looking at alternatives\u2019 to Obamacare in a new post on his social media platform Truth Social. He also called it a \u2018low point for the Republican Party\u2019 that lawmakers failed to \u2018terminate\u2019 the health insurance program established by the Affordable Care Act. According to the latest figures this year, more than 40 million Americans rely on the program for those who can’t afford private plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


<\/strong>Nikki Haley is no moderate \u2013 she doubled down on her calls for a national abortion ban<\/strong> three times <\/em><\/strong>last week in New Hampshire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cIf the people decided they wanted a six-week abortion bill, would you go along with it? Of course.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe question asked in Iowa was, \u2018If you were governor of South Carolina, and they sent you a six week bill, would you sign it?\u2019 And I said yes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cIs there a place for a federal law [banning abortion]? I think there is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe issue that we have at hand right now is \u2026 is there a place for a federal law. And I think there is a place for a federal law.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe debate that we’re having in this country is \u2026 can there be a federal law that deals with abortion \u2026 I do think there’s a place for federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


<\/strong>Despite Kate Cox\u2019s abortion story making national headlines, Haley has been sidestepping questions and pretending she knows little about the devastating Texas Supreme Court ruling.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonathan Karl<\/a>: \u201cDo you think the Supreme Court in Texas made the wrong decision \u2026 Can you give a direct answer now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI mean, the Supreme Court said that the law that the state put was the one that they had to follow, right?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karl<\/a>: \u201cDo you disagree with that decision by the Texas Supreme Court?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cWell, I think it is the right thing that unelected justices no longer decide this. \u2026 I appreciate that Texas went more on the pro-life side.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dana Bash<\/a>: \u201cHow would you make it more human to let Kate Cox deal with this, because she had to leave the state?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI don\u2019t know the exact details of the Texas law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, Trump\u2019s rants that echo Hitler aren\u2019t far enough for Tommy Tuberville, who said that Trump needs to be tougher on immigration. Meanwhile, Republicans such as Ron DeSantis and J.D. Vance are downplaying Trump\u2019s authoritarian-esque comments. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201c\u2018I\u2019m mad he wasn\u2019t tougher than that,\u2019 Tuberville said Tuesday when asked about Trump comparing immigrants to blood poisoning. \u2018Because have you seen what\u2019s happening at the border? We\u2019re being overrun. They\u2019re taking us over. So a little bit disappointed it wasn\u2019t tougher.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forbes<\/a>: \u201cDeSantis also downplayed the remarks in Iowa Monday and said Trump made a \u2018tactical mistake\u2019 by giving \u2018the opposition an ability to try to make [Trump\u2019s immigration policy proposals] about something else,\u2019 and also told Fox News, \u2018I don\u2019t know what this means with the blood stuff, I know people are trying to draw historical allusions, I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s what he meant.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201c\u2018First of all, he didn\u2019t say immigrants were poisoning the blood of this country. He said illegal immigrants were poisoning the blood of this country, which is objectively and obviously true to anybody who looks at the statistics about fentanyl overdoses,\u2019 Vance said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time to say your McByes to McCarthy. The failed speaker of the House will be leaving Congress at the end of the year. After almost 20 years in Congress, he will mostly be remembered for his unpopularity, his shameless attempts to push Trump\u2019s MAGA agenda, and tweets that aged poorly. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
