In case you missed it: On the campaign trail, Donald Trump continues to use the House of Representatives as an arm of his campaign and received the entire House GOP leadership endorsement, while Nikki Haley\u2019s campaign is desperately trying to win over the GOP MAGA base by releasing new ads touting her endorsement from notorious election denier Don Bolduc and bragging about signing an abortion bill with no exceptions for rape or incest. Haley also continues to flail on answering basic questions, dismissing slavery as the cause of the Civil War and instead praising Trump\u2019s extreme MAGA agenda. Harris Faulkner pressed the former South Carolina governor on Wednesday to better address the issue.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaley downplayed the controversy on Wednesday and insisted only the media has been talking about her Civil War answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018\u201cThe media is the only one that has talked about this issue \u2014\u2019 she said before Faulkner cut in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018No, that&#8217;s actually not true,\u2019 the Fox anchor said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/themessenger.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-civil-war-slavery-controversy-media-harris-faulkner\">Faulkner<\/a>: \u201cI don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve heard you say this many words about it at all, but it&#8217;s important and you know your state&#8217;s history.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During her CNN town hall in Iowa, Haley once again sided with the NRA over our children\u2019s safety by refusing to support any new commonsense gun safety legislation.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1743110090096349575\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cI&#8217;m a concealed weapons permit holder myself and I will tell you that we could go and take away a certain kind of gun today and that would make you feel better today but a week from now, there&#8217;d be another shooting.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/04\/14\/nra-convention-trump-desantis-haley-hutchinson\/11637094002\/\">USA Today<\/a>: \u201c\u2018You\u2019ve always got a partner in me,\u2019 Haley told NRA delegates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrapvf.org\/articles\/20140925\/nra-endorses-nikki-haley-for-governor-of-south-carolina\">2014<\/a>: The NRA Political Victory Fund endorsed Haley and gave her an A+ rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/themessenger.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-rejects-red-flag-laws-at-cnn-town-hall\">The Messenger<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley Rejects \u2018Red Flag\u2019 Laws at CNN Town Hall\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/five-key-takeaways-nikki-haley-townhall\">Washington Examiner<\/a>: \u201c[Haley] emphasized the need to \u2018end gun-free zones,\u2019 pinning blame on locations where guns are heavily restricted for shootings, because \u2018nobody else is going to be able to protect themselves.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During the CNN town hall, Haley also admitted she agreed with Trump\u2019s extreme MAGA agenda, which includes a national abortion ban and ending Social Security and Medicare as we know them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1743120911601926243\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cI personally think President Trump was the right president at the right time. I agree with a lot of his policies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The entire 2024 presidential field has a white supremacy problem \u2014 and Vivek Ramaswamy became the latest to embrace the latest salvo in the race for the MAGA base by refusing to condemn white supremacy and accepting disgraced former congressman Steve King\u2019s endorsement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/merylkornfield\/status\/1742373480023101827\">Meryl Kornfield, Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cI asked Vivek if he condemned white supremacy. Vivek said to \u2018stop picking on this farce of some figment that exists at some infinitesimally small fringe.\u2019 He said he condemns \u2018vicious racial discrimination\u2019 but <strong>would not \u2018bend the knee\u2019 and condemn white supremacy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/vivek-ramaswamy-campaigns-with-steve-king-former-iowa-congressman-history-of-racist-remarks\/\">CBS News<\/a>: \u201cSteve King, the former Republican <strong>Iowa congressman with a history of racist and controversial statements,<\/strong> reemerged on the political scene this week, campaigning with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy Wednesday.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/01\/05\/vivek-ramaswamy-conspiracy-theories-iowa\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cRamaswamy increasingly embraces fringe theories, far-right claims in Iowa\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRamaswamy railed against a \u2018mainstream media narrative\u2019 and argued King had said nothing racist. Asked by a Washington Post reporter if he himself condemned white supremacy, Ramaswamy said he was \u2018not going to recite some catechism.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/live-blog\/election-2024-live-updates-rcna131517#rcrd29009\">NBC News<\/a>: \u201cIn tense, wide-ranging remarks to reporters on Tuesday night, Vivek Ramaswamy called white supremacy a myth, cited actor Jussie Smollett as evidence, and said he didn\u2019t know who Dylann Roof is.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToward the end of the press gaggle, another reporter asked Ramaswamy, \u2018Mr. Ramaswamy, how can you seriously cite Jussie Smollett when talking about white supremacy <strong>when people like Dylann Roof exist?\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cRamaswamy responded: \u2018I don\u2019t know who that is.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MAGA Mike Johnson visited the southern border despite still refusing to consider legislation to help secure it.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/opinion\/msnbc-opinion\/mike-johnson-republicans-texas-mexico-border-rcna132085\">MSNBC<\/a>: \u201cSpeaker Mike Johnson took no fewer than 60 of his House GOP colleagues on a trip to the southern border this week, enacting a ritual that is both familiar and pointless.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1743013454217085133\">Fox News analyst<\/a>: \u201cYou don&#8217;t see House Republicans involved in trying to have real solutions.
