Happy Monday and welcome to another week of MAGA Mike Johnson marching in lockstep with Donald Trump by using the People\u2019s House as a personal stage for Trump\u2019s campaign sequel. On the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade<\/em>, let\u2019s not forget that Johnson has spent his entire career fighting to rip away women\u2019s freedoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what MAGA Mike has gotten up to as of this Monday, but let\u2019s be clear: If it\u2019s a day ending in \u201cy,\u201d Johnson is hard at work turning the People\u2019s House into an arm of Trump\u2019s presidential campaign instead of delivering on the issues Americans care about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen Donald Trump\u2019s Supreme Court justices provided the deciding votes to overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em>, they left women across the country vulnerable to the likes of Mike Johnson, who has cosponsored multiple bills to ban abortion nationwide and threaten doctors with jail time for providing women with the care they need. The MAGA House majority is too busy trying to rip away women\u2019s freedoms to focus on tackling the real issues Americans face, and MAGA Mike and his colleagues will pay for it dearly at the ballot box this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson celebrated when <\/strong>Roe v. Wade <\/em><\/strong>was overturned, and has pushed for doctors to face jail time and penalties for performing abortions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


New York Times<\/a>: \u201cIn Congress, Mr. Johnson has voted for a national abortion ban and co-sponsored a 20-week abortion ban, earning him an A-plus rating from the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.<\/strong> After the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in June last year, he celebrated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201c\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udea8BREAKING: Late yesterday, the La. Department of Health informed abortion facilities in our state that the right to life has now been RESTORED!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cMike Johnson\u2019s America: Revisit landmark SCOTUS decisions and use government to \u2018restrain evil\u2019\u201d

Jezebel<\/a>: \u201c[Johnson] expressed hope that Roe v. Wade would someday be overturned, railed against people supposedly \u2018using abortion as birth control\u2019 and appeared to blame school shootings on abortion: \u2018When you break up the nuclear family, when you tell a generation of people that life has no value, no meaning, that it\u2019s expendable, then you do wind up with school shooters.\u2019\u201d
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson has endorsed some of the strictest anti-abortion bills in the country, including an abortion ban without exceptions for rape and incest.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cIn Congress, Johnson signed on to some of the toughest anti-abortion bills, such as a 2021 so-called \u2018heartbeat bill,\u2019 which would essentially outlaw abortion after six weeks.<\/strong> He has repeatedly called states that allow abortion \u2018pro-death\u2019 states. \u2018It is truly an American holocaust,\u2019 Johnson said in May 2022 on local DC radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn numerous occasions, Johnson also voiced approval for a Louisiana state trigger law \u2013 passed in 2006 \u2013 which banned abortion without exceptions for rape and incest the day Roe v. Wade was overturned.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


<\/strong>CNN<\/a>: \u201cMike Johnson, the new speaker of the House, voiced support for revisiting Supreme Court decisions that struck down restrictions on the use of contraception, barred bans on gay sex and legalized same sex marriages.<\/strong> \u2026 CNN\u2019s review of more than 100 of Johnson\u2019s interviews, speeches and public commentary spanning his decades-long career as a lawmaker and attorney paints a picture of his governing ideals: Imprisoning doctors who perform abortions after six weeks; the Ten Commandments prominently displayed in public buildings; an elimination of anti-hate-crime laws; Bible study in public schools.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson gave a speech to anti-abortion extremists where he compared himself to Moses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cIn a keynote speech to a gathering of Christian nationalist lawmakers Tuesday night, House Speaker Mike Johnson compared himself to Moses, leading the GOP conference \u2014 and America \u2014 through the parted waters of the Red Sea. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJohnson\u2019s speech to the National Association of Christian Lawmakers \u2014 a group that seeks to enact its anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ \u2018biblical worldview\u2019 into law<\/strong> \u2014 is just the latest evidence that the politician who is now second in line for the presidency views himself as on a divine mission. Rolling Stone previously reported on Johnson\u2019s exhortations to save a \u2018depraved; America from God\u2019s wrath and vengeance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cAmerica, Johnson insisted, is \u2018engaged in a battle between worldviews\u2019 and \u2018a great struggle for the future of the Republic.\u2019 The specifics of that struggle remained unspoken. But the NACL mission, according to materials promoting the gala, includes: \u2018abolishing abortion\u2019; restoring \u2018traditional marriage between one man and one woman\u2019; and \u2018exposing the ungodly effort to undermine our culture by Leftists,\u2019<\/strong> Johnson added that he believed far-right Christians will prevail<\/strong>: \u2018We should not be daunted. In the face of these challenges. Our hope is in the Lord, our hope, and our trust is in God.\u2019\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson\u2019s own members admit that the Republican conference has been so focused on creating headlines for publicity that they haven\u2019t spent any time actually legislating for the American people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
