Donald Trump said it himself: Without him, none of the extreme abortion bans being pushed by MAGA Republicans across the country would be possible. With Trump now closing in on the Republican nomination, we\u2019re reminding voters of the severe consequences of his anti-choice extremism and what is at stake for women across America in this election, state by state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As MAGA Republicans in Wisconsin and across the country try to rip away women\u2019s freedoms as a result of Donald Trump\u2019s actions to overturn Roe v. Wade, <\/em>DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWomen all over the country are facing a horrifying new reality because of Donald Trump and his handpicked justices\u2019 efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade <\/em>\u2013 now, Wisconsin Republicans are launching the latest attack on reproductive freedom by pushing ahead with a cruel new abortion ban. Trump and his extreme MAGA allies are making it clear to women in Wisconsin and across the nation that abortion is on the ballot in this election. Time and time again, when Republicans try to put basic freedoms up for a vote, they lose \u2013 and Trump\u2019s out-of-touch, anti-freedom agenda will lose again this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisconsin Republicans last week passed an abortion ban proposal through the state assembly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cWisconsin Republicans approve bill banning abortions after 14 weeks of pregnancy\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisconsin Examiner<\/a>: \u201cThe bill is Republicans\u2019 latest proposal that would tighten abortion laws in Wisconsin since the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s Dobbs v. Jackson decision, which eliminated federal abortion protections.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump is demanding credit for the extreme abortion bans that MAGA Republicans have passed around the country and said he is \u201cproud\u201d of his work to help overturn <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to.<\/strong> Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaign radio ad<\/a>: “And Trump nominated conservative judges, leading to Roe v. Wade<\/em> being overturned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> was an incredible thing<\/strong> for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump supports a national abortion ban and has a yearslong extreme anti-abortion record. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all [options].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe’ll pick something that’s going to be very, very good for pro-life \u2026 I\u2019m going to be in there pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. <\/strong>\u2026 It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikki Haley has pledged to sign any nationwide abortion ban that landed on her desk. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret Brennan<\/a>: \u201cWould you [sign a national abortion ban]?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI’ve said I’m fine with a federal law.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI would support anything that would pass.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhatever we can get 60 Senate votes on, isn\u2019t that better than what we have now? And if it\u2019s\u2013 if it\u2019s six weeks, that\u2019s great. If it\u2019s 15 weeks, that\u2019s great.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cSo what can we do? Is there room for a federal law? I think there is room for a federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
