In response to MAGA Mike Johnson rejecting his own demands for border security legislation, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMAGA Mike Johnson is once again putting partisan politics and Donald Trump ahead of America\u2019s national security and the border. He can\u2019t even go one week without contradicting himself on border security \u2013 first saying that a bipartisan deal to secure the border is \u2018dead on arrival,\u2019 and now signaling he will block the Senate\u2019s national security bill because of\u2026 border security. Every time he bends the knee to Trump instead of working to secure the border, Johnson is just making sure that the next thing dead on arrival will be his speakership in January.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Mike Johnson is calling for border security legislation \u2013 despite rejecting bipartisan legislation to secure the border JUST LAST WEEK.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cJohnson slammed the package for excluding border security provisions \u2026 But earlier this month \u2026 Johnson declared the foreign-aid-plus-border-security package dead on arrival.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson shamefully dismissed Border Patrol agents\u2019 support of the bipartisan bill to improve border security, claiming they only support it because they want better pay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Ingraham<\/a>: \u201cThe Border Patrol union has come out and said the bill is better than the status quo.<\/strong> Does that affect your thinking on this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson: \u201cWell, I think it does have something to do with the pay structure that\u2019s in the bill.<\/strong> I understand that they\u2019re desperate for measures that will assist.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson rejected the bipartisan border security legislation despite repeatedly calling for action to secure the border and saying it \u201cis a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cOur immigration system is broken. Reforming that system is a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cThe crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cWe must insist \u2014 must insist \u2014 that the border be the top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cI do think it\u2019s past time to secure the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
