In response to RFK Jr.\u2019s Trump donor-fueled super PAC taking another $5 million from Trump megadonor Timothy Mellon, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday\u2019s news that Donald Trump\u2019s largest donor has given another $5 million to RFK Jr.\u2019s super PAC confirms what we already knew: RFK Jr. is a stalking horse for Trump in this election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RFK Jr.-aligned super PAC American Values 2024 had already previously received $15 million in donations from GOP megadonor and Trump backer Timothy Mellon before this latest filing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Times<\/a>: \u201cDonald Trump donor pours cash into Robert Kennedy Jr\u2019s White House run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cHalf of that staggering cash haul [for RFK Jr. and American Values 2024] has come from two people. Timothy Mellon, a Republican megadonor who backed Donald Trump’s failed 2020 reelection campaign, has donated another $10 million to the pro-Kennedy super PAC, American Values 2024. Mellon, an heir to the Mellon banking fortune, has now given $15 million to the group so far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mellon was helping to \u201ckeep the lights on for the Kennedy campaign\u201d and \u201cwas first inclined to give $5 million to R.F.K. because he thought he was a kooky Biden-botherer in the Democratic primary.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Examiner<\/a>: \u201cTimothy Mellon, a Republican megadonor and ex-chairman of the transportation-holding corporation Pan Am Systems. Mellon, the grandson of banking tycoon Andrew Mellon, gave $5 million in April to American Values 2024, a super PAC supporting Kennedy, campaign finance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Puck<\/a>: \u201cMellon, I\u2019ve been told, is fascinated by presidential politics and was first inclined to give $5 million to R.F.K. because he thought he was a kooky Biden-botherer in the Democratic primary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mellon is also Trump’s biggest donor in the 2024 presidential campaign cycle.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: “Timothy Mellon, the banking heir and businessman, gave an additional $5 million in January to a super PAC backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.\u2019s independent presidential campaign, bringing his total contribution to $20 million. Mellon has also given $15 million to a super PAC, MAGA Inc., that is backing Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cThe biggest donation by far [to a pro-Trump super PAC] came from Timothy Mellon, a transportation executive and heir to the Mellon banking fortune, who wrote a $10 million check.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cMellon, who is listed on the report as a self-employed investor, has contributed millions to Republican candidates and causes in the past, including a whopping $20 million to super PACs supporting former President Donald Trump\u2019s re-election bid in 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RFK Jr. has deflected questions on why Mellon, a Trump megadonor with a record of racist statements, has backed his candidacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
