Donald Trump surrounds himself with the most out-of-touch extremists he can find \u2013 and is already planning to fill his Cabinet with far-right MAGA fanatics ready to push his dangerous agenda. As Trump floats fellow MAGA loser Kevin McCarthy as chief of staff, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nobody better than Kevin McCarthy at bending the knee to Donald Trump, pushing his extreme and unpopular MAGA agenda, and then getting humiliated time and time again all the same. McCarthy repeatedly backed Trump\u2019s plans to ban abortion nationwide, threaten our democracy, and rip away affordable health care \u2013 and now he\u2019s ready to once again get used by Trump to push the same dangerous platform. If a loser like McCarthy is the best Trump can do for a sidekick, then even Trump knows he\u2019s in deep trouble ahead of November.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McCarthy is reportedly a \u201ctop candidate\u201d to be chief of staff in Trump\u2019s possible second-term Cabinet because of his \u201cunderstanding of Capitol Hill\u201d…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cOusted US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is seen as a top candidate to serve as chief of staff.<\/strong> McCarthy \u2026 has assets that Trump views positively including an understanding of Capitol Hill, federal agencies and budgets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 the same Kevin McCarthy who got ousted as speaker of the House by his fellow Republicans after a disastrous speakership.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

McCarthy did lasting damage to our democracy by voting to overturn the results of the 2020 election and subsequently embracing Donald Trump after the January 6 insurrection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with 138 of his Republican colleagues in the House, and eight more in the Senate, the then-minority leader voted against certifying the election results on January 6, 2021<\/strong>\u2014even after armed Donald Trump supporters besieged the Capitol to disrupt that very process. It was a shameful act, and one that belied his behind-the-scenes exhortations that the former president put a stop to the chaos and violence. But McCarthy did it anyway\u2014voted against democracy, voted against impeachment, and truckled to Trump at Mar-a-Lago weeks after the Capitol attack\u2014for the same reason he does everything: ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McCarthy and Trump want to ban abortion nationwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cMcCarthy told CNN he backs legislation to codify a 15-week [national] ban on abortion, saying: \u2018I\u2019d support that.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

McCarthy and Trump both have yearslong records of floating cuts to Social Security and Medicare.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cHouse Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said that if Republicans win control of the House the GOP will use raising the debt limit as leverage to force spending cuts \u2014 which could include cuts to Medicare and Social Security.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
