In response to Donald Trump once again <\/em>bragging<\/em><\/a> about reversing Roe v. Wade and saying cruel abortion bans across the country are \u201c<\/em>working very brilliantly<\/em><\/a>,\u201d <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what Donald Trump thinks is \u2018working very brilliantly\u2019: millions of women suffering under cruel bans that deny women lifesaving health care and rip away basic freedoms. Trump \u2018proudly\u2019 overturned Roe v. Wade, <\/em>and now he\u2019s proudly taking credit for the suffering of millions of women across America. The American people know Trump will stop at nothing to ban abortion nationwide, and can never be given the chance to do so in a second term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: Donald Trump bragged AGAIN about ending <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and said extreme abortion bans that are denying women critical care across the country are \u201cworking brilliantly.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe broke <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and we did something that nobody thought was possible. We gave it back to the states, and the states are working very brilliantly\u2026 But they\u2019re working, and it\u2019s working the way it\u2019s supposed to.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is still demanding credit for overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and paving the way for extreme abortion bans across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI was proudly the person responsible for the ending of\u2026 <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it\u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me<\/strong>, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> was an incredible thing<\/strong> for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with\u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em>… For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone\u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to.<\/strong> Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaign radio ad<\/a>: “And Trump nominated conservative judges, leading to Roe v. Wade<\/em> being overturned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has said loud and clear that he\u2019d ban abortion nationwide if elected to a second term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all options.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe’ll pick something that’s going to be very, very good for pro-life\u2026 I\u2019m going to be in there pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump also backed a national abortion ban during his first term and said that women should be punished for receiving abortion care.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks<\/strong>\u2026 It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some of the Trump-enabled cruel abortion bans that have created a horrifying reality for women across the country:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alabama<\/a>: \u201cAbortions became almost entirely illegal in Alabama on June 24. A 2019 state abortion ban took effect making it a felony to perform an abortion at any stage of pregnancy, with no exceptions for pregnancies caused by rape or incest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arizona<\/a>: \u201cArizona court upholds state\u2019s 1864 total abortion ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arkansas<\/a>: \u201cArkansas bans nearly all abortions after Roe v. Wade overturned\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florida<\/a>: \u201cFlorida\u2019s new restrictions will chip away at the little abortion access left in the South\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia<\/a>: \u201cGeorgia abortion ban remains in effect after state Supreme Court ruling\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kentucky<\/a>: \u201cAbortion is banned in almost all circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Louisiana<\/a>: \u201cLouisiana abortion ban preserved after lawmakers kill bill to call public vote\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Missouri<\/a>: \u201cRepublicans block attempt to add rape, incest exemptions to Missouri\u2019s abortion ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
