In response to extreme election denier Andrew Iverson being <\/em>hired<\/em><\/a> to lead the Wisconsin GOP, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump is filling the ranks of his Republican Party with election-denying extremists who want to threaten our democracy, from the RNC to the Wisconsin GOP. Trump lost Wisconsin in 2020 because of his unpopular MAGA extremism, but he hasn\u2019t learned his lesson \u2013 he\u2019s still hiring the same kinds of cranks and conspiracy theorists who oversaw his demise in the state last cycle. The American people rejected Trump and his crew of election-denying lowlifes before, and they\u2019ll reject them again this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: An extreme election denier and former Trump campaign staffer has been hired to lead the Wisconsin GOP.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cFormer Trump staffer who said to \u2018fan the flame\u2019 after 2020 loss hired to lead Wisconsin GOP\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe director of Donald Trump\u2019s 2020 presidential campaign in Wisconsin, who pushed allegations of widespread fraud that were ultimately debunked<\/strong>, has been hired to run the Republican Party of Wisconsin heading into the November election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIverson told other operatives two days after the election to support claims that Trump had actually won. <\/strong>\u2026 Biden defeated Trump by nearly 21,000 votes in Wisconsin in 2020, a result that has withstood independent and partisan audits and reviews, as well as lawsuits and the recounts Trump requested.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iverson<\/a>: \u201cHere\u2019s the drill: Comms is going to continue to fan the flame and get the word out about Democrats trying to steal this election. We\u2019ll do whatever they need (inaudible) help with. Just be on standby in case there\u2019s any stunts we need to pull.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wisconsin GOP continues to face leadership turmoil and legal trouble related to Trump\u2019s fake electors plot in the state.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a>: \u201cRepublican Party of Wisconsin executive director Mark Jefferson will step down next month, shaking up the state party\u2019s leadership just months before the next presidential election and the party\u2019s national convention in Milwaukee.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAppointed executive director for the second time in early 2019, Jefferson presided over Wisconsin Republicans during some of their more tumultuous times. The party became divided over challenges to the 2020 election. It drew national attention when 10 Wisconsin Republicans, including the party\u2019s chairman, signed false paperwork claiming to be electors for former President Donald Trump. Jefferson at the time privately expressed concerns about the plan.<\/strong>\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisconsin Public Radio<\/a>: \u201cThe former chair of the Wisconsin Republican Party said he feared for his family\u2019s safety when he signed paperwork as a false elector for former president Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHitt was one of 10 false electors who signed documents in 2020 saying that Trump won Wisconsin. The group admitted in a settlement late last year that their actions were used in efforts to overturn the election results.<\/strong>\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cMore than 1,400 pages of emails, text messages and other documents released Monday reveal details of a strategy by Republican operatives tied to then-President Donald Trump to overturn Joe Biden\u2019s 2020 victory in Wisconsin. <\/strong>The documents \u2014 settling a civil lawsuit filed against two attorneys and 10 Wisconsin Republicans who posed as fake electors \u2014 also allow a deeper look into how the strategy played out in other battleground states.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is still pushing baseless lies about his loss by over 7 million votes in the 2020 election \u2013 including his loss in Wisconsin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WPR<\/a>: \u201cOne day before his campaign stop in Green Bay, former President Donald Trump continued to push the false claim that he won Wisconsin four years ago \u2014 despite a recount, audits and court cases showing he lost to President Joe Biden.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump continues to praise and embrace violent January 6 rioters \u2013 calling them \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots\u201d and vowing to pardon \u201ca large portion\u201d of those who attacked our Capitol. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
