As Trump plans to rip away reproductive freedoms from millions of women, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement, with help from Trump\u2019s own words: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump was \u2018honored\u2019<\/a> to \u2018proudly\u2019<\/a> \u2018kill Roe v. Wade<\/em>\u2019<\/a> and thinks it\u2019s a \u2018miracle\u2019<\/a> that cruel abortion bans across the country are \u2018working very brilliantly,\u2019<\/a> even as women are denied critical care. Trump \u2014 who said \u2018there has to be some form of punishment\u2019<\/a> for women who get an abortion \u2014 is now \u2018looking at all options\u2019<\/a> and \u2018pushing\u2019<\/a> a \u2018vital role for the federal government\u2019<\/a> in banning abortion nationwide. While President Biden is fighting to protect reproductive freedoms, Trump wants to rip away our basic rights \u2014 and voters will stop his extreme anti-choice agenda at the ballot box.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be clear: Trump said he\u2019d sign a national abortion ban if elected to a second term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is the reason millions of women live under cruel abortion bans \u2014 and he loves bragging about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI was proudly the person responsible for the ending of \u2026 <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe broke <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and we did something that nobody thought was possible. We gave it back to the states, and the states are working very brilliantly \u2026 But they\u2019re working, and it\u2019s working the way it\u2019s supposed to.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me<\/strong>, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> was an incredible thing<\/strong> for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump backed a national abortion ban during his first term and said women should be punished for getting an abortion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. <\/strong>\u2026 It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women are suffering under Trump\u2019s cruel abortion bans across the country:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kentucky<\/a>: \u201cAbortion is banned in almost all circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
