In response to the Arizona House passing a repeal of Donald Trump\u2019s extreme 1864 abortion ban, leaving Arizona women still living under an extreme abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, DNC spokesperson Cameron Niven<\/strong> released the following statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause of Donald Trump, Arizona women will still live under an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest. Because of Donald Trump, women aren\u2019t safe in Arizona. Trump has thrown Arizona women\u2019s lives into uncertainty and chaos after he \u2018proudly\u2019 overturned Roe<\/em>. If he returns to the White House, he and his allies have a plan to ban abortion in every state, with or without Congress. The only way to ensure that the fundamental rights of Arizona women and all women are protected is by reelecting President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump overturned <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and is the reason one in three women live under extreme abortion bans across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me<\/strong>, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to.<\/strong> Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s bans are about punishing women \u2014 period. He said himself that women should be punished for getting abortion care.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump backed a national ban in his first term and has made clear that if reelected, he\u2019d sign a national abortion ban if it landed on his desk.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. <\/strong>\u2026 It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all options.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
