As GOP state parties across the country succumb to constant infighting, struggle to raise money to build on their bare bones ground game, and reel from loss after loss, the split screen between the MAGA GOP and the Democratic Party couldn\u2019t be clearer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s take a look back at the last year of MAGA GOP dysfunction in the states:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MAGA Republicans have been embroiled in their own internal battles, leadership implosions, and chaos. It makes you wonder \u2013 how can they expect to lead a country when they can\u2019t even lead themselves?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/08\/02\/broke-state-gop-parties-across-the-country-00109387\">Politico<\/a>: \u201c\u2018<strong>Everything has fallen off a cliff&#8217;: Battleground state GOPs nosedive in Trump era<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/republicans-house-leadership-chaos-states-infighting-bb5d9287214cd5aa0a1fdf03b56bebcb\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Internal conflicts and power struggles have become hallmarks of the modern GOP<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlive.com\/politics\/2023\/09\/michigans-gop-is-a-doggone-mess-inside-a-party-torn-by-infighting-and-paranoia.html\">MLive<\/a>: \u201cChairwoman Kristina Karamo pledged to unify the Michigan Republican Party. So in late August the party\u2019s general counsel, Dan Hartman, proposed a \u2018peace summit\u2019 to heal a rift in the Kalamazoo County Republican Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cIt failed spectacularly.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/georgia-gop-fights-bitter-warwith-itself-6ecf35e1\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>: \u201cUnder normal conditions, the state party might be celebrating and focusing on the 2024 presidential contest in the battleground state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cInstead, Georgia Republicans are locked in a civil war stemming from former President Donald Trump\u2019s narrow 2020 loss in the state.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/arizona-gop-boss-quits-after-leaked-tape-shows-him-floating-a-job-for-kari-lake-to-skip-senate-race\">PBS NewsHour<\/a>: \u201cArizona Republican Party Chairman Jeff DeWit resigned Wednesday after <strong>he could be heard in a leaked recording offering a job and asking U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake to name a price that would keep her out of politics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDeWit\u2019s departure shakes up the Republican Party in a battleground state that will feature prominently in the battle for control of the White House and the U.S. Senate in the November election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GOP state parties have been strapped for cash, with some unable to pay for the basic necessities to maintain what little ground game they have left.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/detroit\/news\/draft-report-alleges-michigan-gop-is-more-than-half-a-million-dollars-in-debt\/\">CBS News<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Draft report alleges Michigan GOP is more than half a million dollars in debt<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/north-carolina-republican-party-debt-1865265\">Newsweek<\/a>: \u201c<strong>North Carolina GOP Owes $72k in Debt After Burning Through Cash<\/strong>\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/minnesota-gop\/\">RawStory<\/a>: \u201cAccording to the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission, <strong>the Republican Party of Minnesota has just $53.81 in the bank \u2014 not even enough money to buy a single Amazon Fire tablet with Prime Day discounts applied<\/strong>. By contrast, the party is reporting almost $334,000 in debts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azmirror.com\/briefs\/inevitable-theyll-go-broke-the-azgops-financial-situation-gets-worse\/\">Arizona Mirror<\/a>: \u201cWhen Jeff DeWit took the reins of the Arizona Republican Party in January, the party had more than $152,000 in its federal campaign account. Seven months later, the AZGOP has burned through more than 90% of those cash reserves and doesn\u2019t have enough money to pay its bills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018<strong>If this keeps up, it\u2019s inevitable they\u2019ll go broke<\/strong>,\u2019 said Chris Baker, a Scottsdale-based political consultant whose clients include U.S. Rep. David Schweikert.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.notus.org\/2024-election\/trump-rnc-state-parties-legal-fees\">NOTUS<\/a>: \u201cRepublicans Can\u2019t Afford to Help Trump Out With His Huge Bond\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cDon\u2019t expect the Republican Party to step in just yet to help former President Donald Trump out with his financial woes: They\u2019ve got too many problems of their own.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Florida state parties have all reportedly been struggling financially.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Speaking of infrastructure, GOP outreach centers across the nation have shuttered \u2013 and some interesting businesses have taken over their leases.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/politics-blog\/pg-am-shuttered-gop-outreach-center-now-home-to-shop-selling-sex-toys\/BYQSCWW5ZVFIJAOREHNQGJPXDM\/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=tw-card\">Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Shuttered GOP outreach center now home to shop selling sex toys<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/03\/28\/former-rnc-hispanic-outreach-center-in-milwaukee-remains-vacant\/72987260007\/\">Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a>: \u201c<strong>RNC&#8217;s former Hispanic outreach center in Milwaukee soon to become an ice cream shop<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/gop-minority-outreach-centers-in-nevada-quietly-shuttered-after-2022-election-cycle\">The Nevada Independent<\/a>: \u201cIn 2020 and 2022, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Nevada GOP made a well-publicized push to attract voters of color by opening several minority outreach centers in the Las Vegas Valley and across other swing states.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThe AAPI outreach center in Spring Valley is now a vape shop called \u2018Vape Ape,\u2019 which an employee told an Indy reporter had opened in the past year. The former Hispanic Voices for Trump location in East Las Vegas is now a Spanish-speaking church, and a Black Voices for Trump outpost has been replaced by a chiropractic practice and a small business selling refrigerated trailers and boxes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacurrent.com\/news\/republican-national-committee-closes-minority-outreach-center-in-san-antonio-34245854\">San Antonio Current<\/a>: \u201c<strong>The Republican National Committee has shuttered a South San Antonio office it opened in 2021<\/strong> as part of its much-trumpeted effort to court Latinx voters after Donald Trump&#8217;s unexpectedly strong 2020 performance in South Texas, according to the San Antonio Report.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The consequences of the GOP\u2019s disarray are playing out in special election after special election, in which Democrats have come out victorious as voters reject Donald Trump and his minion\u2019s extreme, anti-freedom agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alabamareflector.com\/2024\/03\/26\/marilyn-lands-democrat-who-ran-on-reproductive-rights-flips-alabama-house-seat\/\">Alabama Reflector<\/a>: \u201cDemocratic candidate Marilyn Lands, <strong>who campaigned on ending Alabama\u2019s near-total abortion ban and protecting access to contraception and in vitro fertilization<\/strong>, won a special election Tuesday for a Huntsville-area state House seat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/democrats-win-special-election-4-takeaways-new-yorks\/story?id=107215060\">ABC News<\/a>: \u201cFormer Rep. Tom Suozzi will win back his old House seat in Tuesday&#8217;s special election in New York&#8217;s 3rd Congressional District, ABC News projects &#8212; extending his party&#8217;s largely winning record in such races and further whittling down Republicans&#8217; tiny majority in the chamber.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cSuozzi&#8217;s projected victory is the latest sign that the Democratic enthusiasm sparked by former President Donald Trump after 2016, which escalated after the scrapping of constitutional abortion protections in 2022, is alive and well<\/strong> heading into November &#8212; and members of both parties took note.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedp.com\/article\/2024\/02\/penn-pennsylvania-house-jim-prokopiak-special-election-majority\">Daily Pennyslvanian<\/a>: \u201cDemocrat Jim Prokopiak defeated Republican candidate Candace Cabanas in a Pennsylvania House of Representatives special election, giving Democrats a narrow majority in the chamber.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOne of Prokopiak&#8217;s main campaign issues was protecting abortion rights<\/strong>, and he was endorsed by the Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC. He had previously said that the winner of the special election \u2018would be the deciding vote to pass\u2019 or block legislation restricting abortion in Pennsylvania.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/michigan-special-house-election-whats-at-stake-rcna147836\">NBC News<\/a>: \u201cDemocrats won a pair of special state House elections in Michigan on Tuesday, regaining their majority in the chamber \u2014 and their trifecta across state government in the crucial battleground state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cXiong and Herzberg both emphasized their support for reproductive rights during their campaigns. <strong>Democrats frequently attacked Powell for having said he opposes all abortion care \u2018without exception\u2019 and for having suggested he\u2019d try to repeal the state\u2019s abortion protections.<\/strong> Singer focused his campaign on economic issues.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the year since President Biden launched his reelection campaign, GOP state parties across the country are spiraling into chaos and dysfunction&nbsp; just like their leader Donald Trump as they fall in line behind his unpopular and extreme MAGA agenda.
