This Earth Week, as MAGA Republicans follow Donald Trump\u2019s lead in denying the climate crisis,<\/em> DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump\u2019s MAGA minions think climate change is everything from a \u2018hoax\u2019 to a \u2018scam,\u2019 and refuse to address the crisis while American families pay the price. The American people chose President Biden and Democrats\u2019 historic agenda to tackle the climate crisis and deliver good, sustainable jobs over Trump\u2019s reality-denying extremism once before, and they\u2019ll do it again this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Donald Trump\u2019s kooky, conspiratorial lead, MAGA Republicans continue to deny the reality of climate change and put our future and our energy security at risk.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike Johnson<\/a>: \u201cThe climate is changing, but the question is, is it being caused by natural cycles over the span of the Earth\u2019s history? Or is it changing because we drive S.U.V.s? I don\u2019t believe in the latter. I don\u2019t think that\u2019s the primary driver.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Scott<\/a>: \u201cThe problem is Democrats have abandoned common sense. We got the first taste of this administration\u2019s radical environmental agenda when President Biden announced last summer that global warming was our country\u2019s biggest national security threat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kristi Noem<\/a>: \u201cI think that the science has been varied on it, and it hasn\u2019t been proven to me that what we\u2019re doing is affecting the climate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivek Ramaswamy<\/a>: \u201cWherever you stand on climate change, I think most of the climate change agenda is, I\u2019m just going to say it, is a hoax.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Byron Donalds<\/a>: \u201cNo, I don\u2019t [think there\u2019s a correlation between recent heat waves and climate change.]\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marjorie Taylor Greene<\/a>: \u201cPeople are not affecting climate change. You\u2019re going to tell me that back in the ice age, how much taxes did people pay, and how many changes did governments make to melt the ice? The climate is going to continue to change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tom Cotton<\/a>: \u201c[T]here’s no question that climate action is a combination conspiracy, really, a climate cartel that’s specifically designed to drive up the price of gasoline for America’s consumers. Driving up the price of electricity by putting pressure on the oil and gas industries or businesses that are heavy users of oil and gas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marco Rubio<\/a>: \u201cI do not believe that human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it. That\u2019s what I do not \u2013 and I do not believe that the laws that they propose we pass will do anything about it. Except it will destroy our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin McCarthy<\/a>: \u201cPresident Biden has said previously that he believes the number one threat America is facing is climate change. That is not true.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J.D. Vance<\/a>: \u201cAnd even if there was a climate crisis, I don\u2019t know how the way to solve it is to buy more Chinese-manufactured electric vehicles. The whole EV thing is a scam, right? So set to the side these questions about, you know, how much carbon drives the climate change situation. Look, I\u2019m with you on this. I do not wake up in the morning thinking, [we\u2019ve got] a climate crisis we need to destroy the economy to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ron DeSantis<\/a>: \u201cThis is driven by ideology. It\u2019s not driven by reality. In reality, human beings are safer than ever from climate disasters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
