In response to MAGA minion and former Trump administration secretary of housing and urban development calling for a national abortion ban, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust like his former boss Donald Trump, Ben Carson wants to outlaw abortion nationwide and rip away our fundamental freedoms. Carson doesn\u2019t even support exceptions for rape and incest as part of the draconian MAGA platform he\u2019s backing. Voters have already rejected Carson and Trump\u2019s extreme anti-choice agenda at the ballot box before \u2013 and they\u2019re ready to do it once again this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA minion and former Trump administration Cabinet member Ben Carson is calling for a national abortion ban \u2014 with no rape or incest exceptions \u2014 and cuts to federal assistance for single mothers. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201c\u2018What is needed is legislation that guarantees the right to life for all American citizens, including those still in the womb,\u2019 <\/strong>Carson \u2014 a noted pediatric neurosurgeon who was the Trump administration’s secretary of housing and urban development \u2014 writes in \u2018The Perilous Fight,\u2019 which was released Tuesday. \u2018Therefore, we must be boldly vocal about saving our fellow human beings through the legislative process.<\/strong> They are counting on us!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarson has long been conservative on the issue of abortion. When he was running for president in 2015, he likened women who terminate pregnancies to \u2018slave owners\u2019 on NBC News’ \u2018Meet the Press.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarson also said that he was open to considering allowing women to terminate pregnancies to save their lives but that he did not believe in exceptions for rape and incest.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn his new book, in addition to calls for banning abortion, Carson also calls for cuts to federal assistance for single mothers.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson is in lockstep with Trump, who said he\u2019d sign a national abortion ban if elected to a second term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump loves to brag about overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and paving the way for extreme abortion bans across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI was proudly the person responsible for the ending of \u2026 <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe broke <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and we did something that nobody thought was possible. We gave it back to the states, and the states are working very brilliantly \u2026 But they\u2019re working, and it\u2019s working the way it\u2019s supposed to.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me<\/strong>, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
