In case you missed it: Donald Trump opened the door to restricting access to contraception and Plan B, and then Marco Rubio tried to cover for his attacks on reproductive freedoms; MAGA extremists in Louisiana voted to criminalize possession of medication abortion; Trump\u2019s MAGA minions fell in line to tank the bipartisan border deal at his command; Trump admitted he put Michael Whatley in charge of the RNC because he\u2019s an election denier; Trump said he wants an extreme election denier as a running mate and Trump\u2019s MAGA Veepstakes contenders tripped over themselves to push his election denialism; Trump begged for money from Big Oil and Gas CEOs as he promised to roll back environmental regulations; Trump and the RNC brought back ultra-MAGA creep Corey Lewandowski to run the Republican National Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump left the door open to restricting access to contraception and Plan B. Then, Marco Rubio tried to cover for Trump and MAGA Republicans\u2019&nbsp; all-out assault on women\u2019s reproductive freedoms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interviewer: \u201cDo you support any restrictions on a person\u2019s right to contraception?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1792925742885372172\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019re looking at that, and I\u2019m going to have a policy on that very shortly and I think it\u2019s something that you\u2019ll find interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interviewer: \u201cThat suggests that you may want to support some restrictions? Like the morning after pill?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1792928127133352316\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cYou know, things really do have a lot to do with the states. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said. \u2018There is no threat to contraception nationally. \u2026 It\u2019s all made up stuff.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2012\/02\/rubio-bill-limit-birth-control-access-millions\/\">Mother Jones<\/a>: \u201cMarco Rubio\u2019s Plan Could Cut Off Birth Control Coverage for Millions\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA new bill introduced by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a rising conservative star and leading contender for the Republican vice-presidential nomination in 2012, could cut off birth control coverage for millions of women who receive it through their health plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/exclusive-rubio-weighs-in-on-contraceptive-controversy\/\">CBS News<\/a>: \u201cEarlier this year, Rubio co-sponsored the Blunt Amendment, a measure that would allow any employer to stop providing insurance coverage for items such as birth control if the employer finds those items morally objectionable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-features\/maga-plan-attack-birth-control-surveil-women-ban-abortion-pill-1234934807\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cInside the MAGA Plan to Attack Birth Control, Surveil Women and Ban the Abortion Pill\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe attacks on mifepristone and resurrection of Comstock stand out as particularly harmful proposals, but they are only two of the dozens of ways the Republicans behind Project 2025 envision restricting access to abortion and contraception if they win the White House next year. Elsewhere in the document, there are proposals to eliminate the morning-after pill from the Affordable Care Act\u2019s contraceptive mandate under the rationale that it is a \u2018potential abortifacient.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MAGA Republicans in Louisiana voted to restrict access to medication abortion. Tom Cotton, Mike Lee\u2026 and others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wkrn.com\/news\/tennessee-news\/blackburn-to-vote-no-on-bipartisan-senate-border-bill\/\">WKRN<\/a>: \u201cBlackburn to vote \u2018no\u2019 on bipartisan Senate border bill\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/03\/07\/katie-britt-republican-state-of-the-union\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cThough [Katie Britt] helped negotiate a bipartisan border security deal, she ultimately voted against it after Trump signaled to congressional Republicans that no immigration policy should pass during the election year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump proclaimed himself the \u201cgreatest denier in history\u201d and admitted he handpicked Michael Whatley to lead the RNC because of his extreme election-denying record.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/climate-environment\/2024\/05\/23\/trump-oil-industry-pipelines-campaign-money\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cTrump repeated his false claims of the 2020 election being stolen and said that Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley was the most important person in the room because he is \u2018going to stop the cheating.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018We call it save the vote, guard the vote, stop the steal,\u2019 he said, referring to what the RNC needed to be doing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe said he picked Whatley for the job because he did not lose North Carolina \u2018in the middle of the night\u2019 like he did some other states, when he alleged more ballots came in to cost him the election. Before his current position, Whatley was chair of North Carolina\u2019s Republican Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018If you talk about it, you\u2019re a denier,\u2019 he said of his false claims of the 2020 election, according to the notes. \u2018I\u2019m the greatest denier in history.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump also made it clear he wants an election denier to be his running mate. His VP contenders are tripping over themselves to defend his MAGA agenda and refuse to commit to certifying the outcome of the election.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.2news.com\/news\/only-on-2-complete-transcript-and-video-of-former-president-trumps-exclusive-interview-with-2\/article_af1603fe-179e-11ef-bc55-ff923c312d8b.html\">Interviewer<\/a>: \u201cDo you have any regrets about picking Mike Pence as your vice president?
