\u201cSpeaker Mike Johnson is preparing Republicans for quick, large-scale action if they win unified control of government in November, telling Semafor he\u2019ll pursue a far-reaching bill aimed at addressing a wide range of issues at once. Johnson said he\u2019s been in frequent communication with Donald Trump, discussing the potential for a legacy-defining legislative package early in his presidency\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe core of any bill would be addressing the individual tax cuts passed under Trump that are scheduled to sunset in 2025, and are estimated to cost trillions to fully renew. Johnson and other members of leadership have also discussed new border security measures, as well as policies to promote energy production\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs for the Affordable Care Act, a sensitive issue Trump has talked about revisiting after failing to repeal and replace the law in 2017, Johnson said \u2018I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any coordinated effort on that yet,\u2019 but added there\u2019s \u2018a lot of innovation and change that is desperately needed\u2019 in the healthcare system.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 and Trump\u2019s MAGA allies at Project 2025 are pushing an extreme agenda that includes banning abortion nationwide, putting IVF access on the chopping block, and bringing back Trump\u2019s cruel immigration policies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Republic<\/a>: \u201cOn January 20, 2025, conservatives plan to resurrect a 150-year-old defunct law to ban abortion across the nation.<\/strong> This is not a secret plan\u2014far from it\u2026 one in which married heterosexuality is the only valid form of sexual expression and identity; all pregnancies would be carried to term, even if that requires coercion or death; and transgender and gender-nonconforming people do not exist\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe playbook says the president should enforce a 150-year-old law, the Comstock Act, which right-wing groups see as a way to ban abortion nationally because it outlaws the use of the mail for the purposes of sending or receiving any object that could be used for an abortion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cSince the Alabama Supreme Court ruled last month that frozen embryos are children, the Heritage Foundation and other conservative groups have been strategizing how to convince not just GOP officials but evangelicals broadly that they should have serious moral concerns about fertility treatments like IVF and that access to them should be curtailed.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niskanen Center<\/a>: \u201c[Project 2025\u2019s immigration proposals] are designed to cripple the existing immigration system without regard for the extraordinarily harmful effects on the health and wealth of our country. They would weaken our nation\u2019s prosperity and security and undermine the vitality of our workforce, with far-reaching consequences for future generations of Americans.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forbes<\/a>: \u201cThe plan also proposes dramatic changes in government operations, including tax administration. It would increase the number of political appointees at the IRS and freeze its budget at current levels. More broadly, it would centralize control of the federal bureaucracy in the White House, freeze hiring, and give the president broad authority to fire federal workers.<\/strong> It calls for the creation of \u2018lists of\u2026policy-determining, policymaking, or policy-advocating positions\u2019 and procedures to replace career civil servants who hold those jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation.<\/strong> The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump’s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump and his House GOP allies are pushing an extreme anti-choice agenda to ban abortion nationwide, threaten access to contraception and IVF, and rip away reproductive freedoms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
