This week, Fox and Friends is desperately trying to cover for Donald Trump\u2019s out-of-touch, far-right VP contenders who are as toxic to voters as the extreme MAGA agenda they\u2019re all backing. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With J.D. Vance set to appear on Fox and Friends this morning, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJ.D. Vance is desperate to push a toxic, far-right MAGA agenda to please Donald Trump \u2014 but his disastrously out-of-touch record leaves a lot to answer for when it comes to what voters want. From his support for a national ban on abortion (which he compared to slavery), to his attacks on Social Security and Medicare, to his commitment to spreading Trump\u2019s election lies that inspired a mob to try to overturn an election, Vance is auditioning to aid a convicted felon\u2019s pursuit of power, revenge, and retribution \u2014 all while driving away the voters necessary to win this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few questions J.D. Vance should answer \u2013 but that he won\u2019t be asked:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Will Vance drop his dangerous election-denier conspiracy theories and finally commit to accepting the results of this November\u2019s election?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think the entire post-2020 thing would have gone a lot better if there had actually been an effort to provide alternative slates of electors<\/strong>, and to force us to have that debate. I think it would\u2019ve been a much better thing for the country. \u2026 [Trump] was trying to take a constitutional process to its natural conclusion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cI think it would\u2019ve been extraordinarily disappointing to a whole host of people that I care a lot about if Trump had just taken it [and conceded the 2020 election before January 6].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Vance<\/a>: \u201cNo real Republican with any credibility in the party is still blaming [Trump for January 6].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    HuffPost<\/a>: \u201c[Vance] said he would accept a Biden win only if he considered the election to be legitimate. \u2026 Vance\u2019s comments illustrate a new tactic by Republican lawmakers, who are now placing conditions on accepting election results.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ABC News<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance says [he] wouldn\u2019t have certified 2020 race until states submitted pro-Trump electors\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    New York Times<\/a>: \u201c[Vance] has said that, unlike Vice President Mike Pence in 2020, he would have helped Mr. Trump overturn the results<\/strong>, by accepting Trump electors that had not been elected by voters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cPotential Trump running mate JD Vance says he still questions results of 2020 election\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Hill<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance says he is \u2018skeptical\u2019 Pence\u2019s life was in danger on Jan. 6\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Politico<\/a>: \u201c[Vance] downplayed the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol<\/strong>, when Pence was forced to evacuate the building as rioters called for his hanging.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Will Vance explain why he supports a national abortion and called rape and incest \u201cinconvenient\u201d circumstances while comparing abortion to slavery?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Manu Raju, CNN<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance, the Ohio GOP senator, says Republicans need to shift their approach on abortion and begin to embrace federal legislation \u2026 \u2018We can\u2019t give into the idea that the federal Congress has no role in this matter,\u2019 he told us.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Newsweek<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance Backs \u2018National Standard\u2019 for Abortions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cOhio Senate candidate J.D. Vance argues against need for rape and incest exceptions in abortion laws\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Daily Beast<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance suggested he would support prohibiting abortion even in cases of rape and incest\u2014and dismissed those catalysts as \u2018inconvenient.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cVance said that he would vote for the national abortion ban at 15 weeks introduced by Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham \u2026 He did not explicitly say he supports a rape exception \u2026 He said the issue is too complex for him to name all the exceptions he might support on a debate stage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Vance<\/a>: \u201cOhio has a heartbeat bill [banning abortion before many women know they\u2019re pregnant], I think that\u2019s a good bill.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Vice<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance Compared Abortion to Slavery\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Do you stand by your position of turning back the clock once again on women\u2019s rights by making it harder for women to pursue a divorce?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cConservative US lawmakers are pushing for an end to no-fault divorce\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u201cConservative commentators such as Matt Walsh<\/a>, Steven Crowder<\/a> and lawmakers such as the Republican senator JD Vance of Ohio<\/strong> have argued that the laws are unfair to men and hurt society<\/a> because they lead to more divorces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Will Vance defend his attacks against Social Security, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act, which Trump is pushing to \u201c<\/strong>terminate<\/strong><\/a>\u201d?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Vance<\/a>: \u201c[Social Security and Medicare] are the biggest roadblocks to any kind of real fiscal sanity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Vance<\/a>: \u201cThe way forward is as obvious as it is politically difficult: \u2026 reform current entitlements and avoid enacting new ones.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Vance<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019ve got to, frankly, stop spending so much on welfare benefits and start having a lot more workers who are paying into the system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          New York Times<\/a>: Vance claimed the Affordable Care Act \u201cfailed to take care of\u201d high healthcare costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The Hill<\/a>: \u201cVance slams \u2018poisoning our blood\u2019 comparisons between Trump comments, Nazis\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201c\u2018[Trump] said illegal immigrants were poisoning the blood of this country, which is objectively and obviously true\u2019… Vance said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201cThe Ohio Republican, who has endorsed Trump\u2019s campaign, also criticized the framing of questions from reporters who likened the remarks to those by Hitler around World War II, calling it \u2018absurd.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The Hill<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance: Greene \u2018did nothing wrong\u2019 by attending white nationalist conference\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201cVance said the Georgia Republican was his \u2018friend\u2019 and that she did \u2018nothing wrong\u2019 by appearing at the conference.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \u201c\u2018There\u2019s no business in the world that asks you to stab your friends in the back like politics. I absolutely refuse to do it to Marjorie Taylor Greene. She is my friend, and she did nothing wrong,\u2019 Vance said. \u2018She said nothing wrong, and I\u2019m absolutely not gonna throw her under the bus or anybody else who\u2019s a friend of mine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            J.D. Vance<\/a>: \u201cIn 2022, national Democrats lied about @JRMajewski and his service record. Too many Republicans ran from these dishonest smears instead of fighting them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
