In case you missed it: Donald Trump tried to hide his ties to Project 2025; Trump celebrated the Supreme Court\u2019s decision that could open the gates for his anti-democratic agenda to go unchecked and his VP contenders followed suit; Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 leader Kevin Roberts threatened violence if his \u201crevolution\u201d is challenged; and Trump\u2019s VP contenders defended his racist, insulting references to \u201cBlack jobs\u201d and \u201cHispanic jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Donald Trump tried to hide his ties to Project 2025, despite the fact that he is coordinating with the group on an extreme blueprint to rip away freedoms and undermine democracy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/11\/13\/trump-loyalists-2024-presidential-election\">Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation. The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump&#8217;s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/04\/26\/trump-2024-fec-00154727\">Politico<\/a>: \u201cOn Tuesday, the Trump campaign sent a letter to pro-Trump, external organizations asking them to attend an \u2018entirely off-the-record, private,\u2019 and \u201cinvite-only\u201d meeting with senior campaign officials, according to a copy of the letter obtained by POLITICO. The sit-down, which the letter describes as a \u2018meeting of the political minds,\u2019 is <strong>aimed at discussing \u2018collaborat[ion]\u2019 and \u2018priorities and plans\u2019 for the general election<\/strong>. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy holding the meeting, the Trump operation and the third-party entities could conceivably get on the same page about their plans. Two people familiar with the planning for the event said <strong>Heritage Action and Turning Point Action were among the pro-Trump groups invited<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1809279735001760193\">BidenHQ<\/a>: \u201cTrump\u2019s Press Secretary is literally starring in recruitment ads for Project 2025\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump celebrated the Supreme Court\u2019s decision helping pave the way for him to be a dictator on \u201cday one\u201d&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4749652-trump-supreme-court-presidential-immunity-ruling-scotus\/\">The Hill<\/a>: Trump hails Supreme Court immunity decision as huge victory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TrumpDailyPosts\/status\/1807787920058937774\">Trump via Truth Social<\/a>:<strong> \u201c<\/strong>BIG WIN FOR OUR CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-features\/trump-team-stunned-supreme-court-immunity-christmas-1235051244\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cBut the former president and his inner circle aren\u2019t content to stop at victory-lapping. Plans are already in motion to use this new, historic court decision as a legal shield to help a potential second Trump administration implement his extreme policy agenda with less concern for rules and laws, sources with knowledge of the matter say.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/07\/02\/trump-2025-imperial-us-presidency\">Axios<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Trump, if re-elected, plans to immediately test the boundaries of presidential and governing power, knowing the restraints of Congress and the courts are dramatically looser than during his first term, his advisers tell us. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrump promises an unabashedly imperial presidency \u2014 one that would turn the Justice Department against critics, deport millions of people in the U.S. illegally, slap 10% tariffs on thousands of products, and fire perhaps tens of thousands of government staff deemed insufficiently loyal. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThanks to Monday&#8217;s Supreme Court ruling, Trump could pursue his plans without fear of punishment or restraint.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2026and his MAGA VP contenders followed suit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6356198404112\">Doug Burgum<\/a>: \u201cThis is a big win for America, and it\u2019s a big win for the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/alexjfloyd\/status\/1807950028024971455\">Tim Scott<\/a>: \u201cThe Supreme Court has ruled in [Trump\u2019s] favor, in opposition to the weaponizing of the justice system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JDVance1\/status\/1807802214292877601\">J.D. Vance<\/a>: \u201cA massive win, not just for Trump but the rule of law. I\u2019m still digesting but this may well destroy all of Jack Smith\u2019s case against the president.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ByronDonalds\/status\/1807816533743145409\">Byron Donalds<\/a>: \u201cWithout immunity, the President of the United States is unable to properly serve the American people and defend our nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s precedent-setting, 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court did right by President Trump, they did right by the American people, and they did right by the hallowed institution of the Presidency of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJack Smith\u2019s indictment is a disgrace to our legal system and it&#8217;s time that our nation turns the page on this egregious lawfare because President Trump did nothing wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RealBenCarson\/status\/1807802294970319217\">Ben Carson<\/a>: \u201cToday\u2019s HISTORIC SCOTUS victory on presidential immunity has stopped Biden and the Department of \u2018Justice\u2019 from their attempt to twist the law in order to persecute his political opponents. Unfortunately, it\u2019s the Left that has a long history of violence, so it\u2019s up to them to allow a peaceful transfer of power.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMr. Trump is the only president in American history who has refused to accept the results of a democratic election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAllies of Mr. Trump, and Mr. Trump himself, have long used extreme rhetoric and suggestions of violence against his political opponents and against the left in general. Actual violence has occurred on multiple occasions, most notably during the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017, and in the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. And the rhetoric has escalated during the 2024 campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump\u2019s VP contenders also defended his racist, insulting reference to \u201cBlack jobs\u201d and \u201cHispanic jobs\u201d during last week\u2019s debate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6993862\/trumps-debate-black-jobs-hispanic-jobs-anger\/\">TIME<\/a>: \u201cTrump\u2019s Debate References to \u2018Black Jobs\u2019 and \u2018Hispanic Jobs\u2019 Stir Anger\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump warned during his debate with Joe Biden and again at a Friday rally that migrants were taking \u2018Black jobs\u2019 and \u2018Hispanic jobs\u2019 from Americans, angering critics who called it a racist and insulting attempt to expand his appeal beyond his white conservative base. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAsked to clarify what Trump meant in describing a \u2018Black job\u2019 during an interview with NBC News, Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, who is Black and is under consideration to be Trump\u2019s vice presidential nominee, sidestepped the question, instead discussing homeless veterans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/06\/29\/ben-carson-black-jobs\/74255185007\/\">USA Today<\/a>: \u201cCarson told CNN Friday that the former president was referring to \u2018people at the lower end of the economic scale, and that those frequently unskilled jobs are taken by people who come in here illegally, making them unavailable for our people.\u2019 [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCarson also dismissed concerns that Trump\u2019s remarks came off as offensive.<strong> <\/strong>\u2018What we really have to do is start not picking apart what people say but actually asking what is the meaning of what they\u2019re saying,\u2019 he said.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAGA Republicans stooped to new lows this week with their extremism, hypocrisy, chaos, and \u2014 as President Biden would call it \u2014 malarkey.
