Wade<\/em> and paved the way for cruel abortion bans across the country, his VP contenders cheered him on, backing plans to outlaw abortion nationwide if given the chance. Today, these same MAGA minions blocked legislation to codify the overwhelmingly popular protections Roe<\/em> gave women for decades before Trump overturned it. Every anti-choice vote Trump\u2019s MAGA VP contenders make is another crucial reminder that our basic freedoms are on the line in November \u2014 and voters will soundly reject Trump and whichever extremist joins his losing ticket.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSenate Republicans on Wednesday blocked legislation led by Democrats to revive the protections of Roe v. Wade in the wake of the Supreme Court eliminating the nationwide right to abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Republicans who voted against include: J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, Tom Cotton, Bill Hagerty, Katie Britt, Marsha Blackburn, Joni Ernst, <\/strong>and Mike Lee.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of Americans support abortion access and the protections granted under <\/strong>Roe<\/em><\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cA 64% majority of US adults say they disapprove of last year\u2019s Supreme Court ruling that women do not have a constitutional right to an abortion<\/strong>, with half strongly disapproving \u2013 an assessment that\u2019s almost entirely unchanged from CNN\u2019s poll last July in the immediate wake of the decision.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cMost Americans support abortion access one year after Roe v. Wade: poll\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA Today<\/a>: \u201cAmericans overwhelmingly oppose the next goal of many anti-abortion activists, to enact a federal law banning abortion nationwide. By 80%-14%, those surveyed opposed that idea, including 65% of Republicans and 83% of independents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
