As Project 2025 enthusiasts and authors take the stage at the RNC tonight \u2013 including VP candidate JD Vance, Tom Homan, Peter Navarro, and Ric Grenell, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProject 2025 is \u2018undeniably a Trump-driven operation,\u2019 so it\u2019s no wonder it’s squarely in the spotlight for Night 3 of the RNC. Tonight\u2019s speakers include the architect of Trump\u2019s cruel family separation policy Tom Homan, convicted criminal Peter Navarro, dictator apologist Ric Grenell, and Trump\u2019s MAGA running mate JD Vance, who thinks Project 2025 is full of \u2018good ideas.\u2019 The Trump-Vance ticket cannot escape their deep ties to Project 2025\u2019s far-right extremists \u2013 and the American people will reject their toxic agenda in November.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project 2025 author Tom Homan, an architect of Trump\u2019s cruel family separation policy, addressed the RNC convention tonight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cProject 2025\u2019s proposals for reforming the country\u2019s immigration laws appear heavily influenced by those who helped execute Trump\u2019s early enforcement measures. Former acting US Customs and Border Protection chief Mark Morgan and former Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief Tom Homan<\/strong> \u2013 the faces of Trump\u2019s polarizing policies \u2013 contributed to the project, as did Kathy Nuebel Kovarik, one of the policy advisers pushing to end certain immigrant protections behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cHoman was an early proponent of the administration\u2019s controversial \u2018zero tolerance\u2019 policy, which resulted in at least 5,500 families being separated at the southern border in 2018.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother Jones<\/a>: \u201cOn the Anniversary of Family Separation, the Heritage Foundation Hosted the Policy\u2019s Intellectual \u2018Father\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHoman is also helping lay the groundwork for a potential second Trump presidency\u2019s mass deportation plans.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Week<\/a>: \u201cThe Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 wants to reshape America under Trump\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles Times<\/a>: \u201cTrump appears at a fundraiser for a creator of his \u2018family separation\u2019 policy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Convicted criminal Peter Navarro, another author of Trump\u2019s extreme Project 2025 agenda, also spoke tonight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

E&E News<\/a>: \u201c[The authors of Project 2025] includes<\/strong> former Trump Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson and former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro, who\u2019s serving in federal prison after he was convicted of contempt of Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric Grenell spoke tonight and worked for a Project 2025 advisory board member.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Advocate<\/a>: \u201cGrenell will be special adviser for national security and foreign policy at the [<\/strong>Project 2025 advisory board member<\/strong><\/a>] American Center for Law and Justice, based in Washington, D.C.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grenell has spent years cozying up<\/a> to right-wing authoritarian leaders and undermining U.S. foreign policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closing out the night will be Trump\u2019s VP nominee JD Vance \u2013 a Project 2025 enthusiast who has praised the extreme blueprint as having \u201cgood ideas.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve reviewed a lot of [Project 2025]. There are some good ideas in there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Republic<\/a>: \u201cProject 2025 Leader Is Overjoyed by Trump\u2019s Vice Presidential Pick\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Corasaniti, New York Times<\/a>: \u201c[Kevin Roberts] reacted to the news [of Vance\u2019s VP selection] \u2018with a broad smile on my face\u2019 and said that \u2018privately, we were really rooting for him.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gram Slattery, Reuters<\/a>: \u201cVance is very close to Heritage and even wrote the forward for a book from the think tank\u2019s president. Project 2025 is of course organized by Heritage.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vox<\/a>: \u201cKevin Roberts, the president of the right-wing Heritage Foundation and the driving force behind Project 2025, told Ward that \u2018[Vance] is absolutely going to be one of the leaders \u2014 if not the leader \u2014 of our movement.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI want to thank especially Kevin Roberts and all the Heritage Foundation for 50 years of incredible work on conservative policy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think that what Trump should do, like if I was giving him one piece of advice, is fire every single civil servant\u2026 replace them with our people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cThe r\u00e9sum\u00e9s of Vance\u2019s senior staffers read like a phone book for the New Right ecosystem in Washington: the Claremont Institute, American Compass, the Conservative Partnership Institute, Hillsdale College.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: Project 2025 author and RNC Platform Committee Policy Director Russ Vought is a \u201cclose ally of Vance.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make no mistake: Project 2025 is \u201cundeniably a Trump-driven operation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation.<\/strong> The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump’s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cMany of the authors of the blueprint are former Trump officials, and the Heritage Foundation has spent the past year-plus recruiting people to implement the plans within the administration<\/strong>, Scott said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018So they don\u2019t just have a long, sprawling policy document,\u2019 he said, \u2018they also have a growing list of staff who are being tested to see if they are loyal to Trump and if they are willing to administer this in his potential administration.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile groups like Heritage have put forward conservative policy proposals in the past, Scott said Project 2025 is distinct in that it\u2019s so comprehensive and far-reaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
