Today, new reporting from the <\/em>Washington Post<\/em><\/a> confirms that RFK Jr. met with Donald Trump to discuss endorsing his campaign in exchange for a position in a Trump administration. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, DNC Spokesperson Matt Corridoni released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRFK Jr. was recruited to run by MAGA Republicans, he\u2019s being propped up by Trump\u2019s largest donor, and his own staff has said their goal is to hurt Democrats this election cycle. It\u2019s no surprise that RFK Jr. was looking to exchange an endorsement for a job in a Trump Administration. That RFK Jr. was engaging in the same backroom political deals that he claims to despise shows that he knows his spoiler candidacy isn\u2019t going to land him in the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new reporting follows reports that RFK Jr. and Donald Trump met together at the RNC in Milwaukee last week after RFK Jr. canceled all of his campaign events<\/a>. The meeting was allegedly brokered<\/a> by Tucker Carlson, who later had dinner<\/a> with RFK Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert F. Kennedy III\u2014 in a now deleted post\u2014 shared a video<\/a> of his father and Trump speaking on Sunday. The video shows RFK Jr. agreeing with the former president saying: \u201cWe\u2019re gonna win.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Axios\u2019 Mike Allen at the Republican National Convention last week, Donald Trump Jr.<\/a> said that he\u2019d \u201clove\u201d to see RFK Jr. endorse his father, and that \u201cmaybe there\u2019s a great place for him somewhere in an administration.\u201d Eric Trump<\/a> also wasn\u2019t shy about discussing the Trump campaign formally joining forces with RFK Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RFK Jr.\u2019s allies did nothing to defuse suspicions of him working with the Trumps. In fact, they encouraged it. In an interview with Focus Today, Tony Lyons, co-founder of RFK Jr.\u2019s Super PAC, admitted<\/a> RFK Jr. would take a cabinet position in a second Trump administration.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
