In response to Donald Trump once <\/em>again<\/em><\/a> reiterating his ticket\u2019s extreme plans to threaten our democracy, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump and JD Vance have already made it clear that if elected, they will threaten to end our democracy and enact their radical, far-right Project 2025 plans to tear apart our basic institutions as part of their agenda of revenge and retribution. That\u2019s their campaign promise \u2013 and the American people should take them at their word.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last night, Donald Trump told voters they \u201cwon\u2019t have to vote anymore\u201d if he\u2019s elected president.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cYou won\u2019t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what \u2013 it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won\u2019t have to vote anymore.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is still pushing baseless lies about his loss by over 7 million votes in the 2020 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201c[Trump] is flooding the airwaves and his social media platform with distortions, misinformation and unfounded conspiracy theories about his defeat.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cRe-litigating the 2020 election, repeating false claims it was stolen and casting aspersions on the security of mail voting remain major fixtures for [Trump] on the stump.<\/strong> \u2026 He regularly refers to the 2020 election as \u2018rigged\u2019 on his social media channels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump continues to praise and promise pardons for violent January 6 rioters \u2013 who he calls \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Donald Trump promised Wednesday night that if he is elected he will pardon a \u2018large portion\u2019 of the people convicted of federal offenses for their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cJanuary 6, it was the largest crowd I\u2019ve ever spoken to. And they were there proud, they were there with love in their heart. That was an unbelievable \u2014 and it was a beautiful day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has threatened political violence and promised a \u201cbloodbath\u201d if he loses in November, and he is vowing to be a dictator on \u201cday one\u201d if he wins.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just Trump \u2013 JD Vance is an extreme election denier who won\u2019t commit to accepting this November\u2019s election results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HuffPost<\/a>: \u201c[Vance] said he would accept a Biden win only if he considered the election to be legitimate. \u2026 Vance\u2019s comments illustrate a new tactic by Republican lawmakers, who are now placing conditions on accepting election results.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vances echoes Trump\u2019s baseless lies about the 2020 election and attempts to whitewash the violent January 6 insurrection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think the entire post-2020 thing would have gone a lot better if there had actually been an effort to provide alternative slates of electors<\/strong>, and to force us to have that debate. I think it would\u2019ve been a much better thing for the country. \u2026 [Trump] was trying to take a constitutional process to its natural conclusion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think it would\u2019ve been extraordinarily disappointing to a whole host of people that I care a lot about if Trump had just taken it [and conceded the 2020 election before January 6].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Vance has no problem with Trump using the government to go after his political opponents.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Vance praised Project 2025 \u2013 which is \u201cundeniably a Trump-driven operation\u201d \u2013 as having \u201cgood ideas,\u201d and has cozied up to Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts while embracing numerous Project 2025 proposals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation.<\/strong> The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump’s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve reviewed a lot of [Project 2025]. There are some good ideas in there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
