In response to Donald Trump trying to hide his and JD Vance\u2019s extreme anti-choice agenda, <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmericans have seen with their own eyes how Donald Trump overturned Roe v. Wade <\/em>and <\/em>paved the way for extreme MAGA Republicans to restrict IVF and pass cruel abortion bans across the country, hurting women and families. Trump and JD Vance have consistently tried to rip away women\u2019s freedoms, and they won\u2019t stop until they enact their dangerous Project 2025 agenda to outlaw abortion nationwide and threaten IVF access. When voters head to the ballot box this November, they will vote for the Harris-Walz ticket to protect our freedoms \u2014 not Trump and Vance\u2019s all-out assault on our basic rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FACT: Donald Trump paved the way for GOP attacks on IVF in Alabama, and his extreme anti-choice allies \u2014 including the Project 2025 groups his campaign is already collaborating with \u2014 are pushing to gut IVF access. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike many Republicans, Trump\u2019s words of support don\u2019t align with his past actions on IVF. The current Republican presidential nominee \u2015 who has repeatedly bragged about his role in repealing federal abortion protections \u2015 has deep ties to extreme right-wing organizations that actively oppose IVF.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile in the White House, Trump and his administration praised, appointed and worked with some of the nation\u2019s most extreme thought leaders who believe the IVF process is akin to murder.<\/strong> Trump hosted the Alabama Supreme Court chief justice who wrote the IVF ruling twice: once during his 2016 campaign and in 2018 at the White House. <\/strong>(This is the same chief justice who recently appeared on a QAnon conspiracist\u2019s show.)\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cAnti-abortion advocates worked for five decades to topple Roe v. Wade. They\u2019re now laying the groundwork for a yearslong fight to curb in vitro fertilization.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FACT: Trump\u2019s running mate JD Vance is an anti-choice extremist who has spoken out against and voted to block legislation to protect IVF access. He also celebrated Donald Trump\u2019s ending of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> that paved the way for threats to IVF access.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018It\u2019s idiotic for us to take the bait,\u2019<\/strong> Senator JD Vance told Politico, as though the measure were some kind of political trap. (He also noted that he had not actually read the bill yet.)\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think that what I really think on \u2013 so first of all, the <\/strong>Dobbs<\/em><\/strong> decision, everybody knows, overruled <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 I think that was the right decision.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
