Today in Tampa, third-party candidate Jill Stein is expected to express support for the <\/em>Uhuru 3<\/em><\/a>, three individuals facing federal changes for a \u201cmalign influence campaign,\u201d which consists of conspiring to covertly sow discord in U.S. society, spread Russian propaganda, and interfere illegally in U.S. elections. Stein <\/em>participated in a press conference<\/em><\/a> for the Uhuru 3, is expected to <\/em>attend the trial<\/em><\/a>, and will <\/em>host a panel discussion<\/em><\/a> tonight. She has <\/em>previously expressed support for the Uhuru 3<\/em><\/a> in a campaign video.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engaging with foreign assets is a pattern for Stein. Previously, the <\/em>Senate Intelligence Committee<\/em><\/a> investigated links between Stein’s 2016 campaign and Russia’s efforts to interfere in the election, while an indictment brought by <\/em>Special Counsel Robert Mueller<\/em><\/a> found that the Kremlin’s Internet Research Agency had used social media to promote her candidacy. In 2015, Stein <\/em>attended<\/em><\/a> a gala in support of <\/em>Russian propaganda television network, RT<\/em><\/a>, where she sat at the head table alongside Vladimir Putin and <\/em>Michael Flynn<\/em><\/a>. Stein has <\/em>repeatedly parroted <\/em><\/a>Kremlin views and posted a <\/em>campaign video<\/em><\/a> from Moscow\u2019s Red Square with language \u201c<\/em>ripped from Putin\u2019s talking points.<\/em><\/a>\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite her ties to the Kremlin and Putin, the GOP has still embraced Jill Stein as a spoiler candidate. <\/em>Donald Trump<\/em><\/a> praised Jill Stein, saying he likes her \u201cvery much.\u201d  Additionally, the GOP has been <\/em>helping Stein with ballot access<\/em><\/a> in an attempt to<\/em> prop up her spoiler candidacy<\/em><\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response DNC Spokesperson Matt Corridoni released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJill Stein is a useful idiot for Russia. After parroting Kremlin talking points and being propped up by bad actors in 2016 she\u2019s at it again. Jill Stein won\u2019t become president, but her spoiler candidacy\u2014that both the GOP and Putin have previously shown interest in\u2014can help decide who wins. A vote for Stein is a vote for Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
