As JD Vance pushes Donald Trump\u2019s Project 2025 agenda in North Carolina before fundraising with anti-worker extremists in Washington, D.C. today,<\/em> DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJD Vance stands with Donald Trump and his ultra-wealthy backers over hardworking Americans \u2013 that\u2019s why he\u2019s fundraising with anti-worker billionaires after touting the Trump-Vance Project 2025 agenda to raise taxes and jack up costs on middle-class families. Vance is part of the most anti-union, anti-worker ticket in recent American history, running with a former president who created new incentives for companies to send jobs overseas and left office with the worst jobs record since the Great Depression. Now, Vance is defending Trump\u2019s praise for firing striking workers, while their Project 2025 plans would rig the economy for billionaires and big corporations on the backs of the working class. While Trump and Vance push a reckless and out-of-touch agenda, Vice President Harris and Governor Walz have a plan to protect workers and help middle class families get ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TODAY: JD Vance is attending a <\/strong>fundraiser<\/strong><\/a> hosted by the Associated Builders and Contractors<\/strong>, which has consistently pushed anti-union rhetoric and stood with Donald Trump over workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024<\/a>: Associated Builders and Contractors complained that a Biden-Harris policy would make more workers eligible to earn overtime pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024<\/a>: Associated Builders and Contractors attacked the pro-union language of the Biden-Harris administration\u2019s Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024<\/a>: An Associated Builders and Contractors executive complained that a Biden-Harris administration policy prioritizing federal grants for projects with higher worker wages<\/a> was a \u201cgift to unions [that] is discouraging\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2018<\/a>: Members of the Associated Business and Contractors joined Donald Trump at the White House to tout Trump\u2019s tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations that came at the expense of hardworking Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017<\/a>: An Associated Builders and Contractors executive opposed the Fair Pay and Safe Workplace rule because it required contractors to report allegations of misconduct, which he said were often \u201cfrivolous.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like Trump \u2014 who <\/strong>was one of the most anti-worker and anti-union presidents in American history \u2014 Vance stands firmly against working people and has opposed legislation to protect unions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cVance has consistently opposed the PRO Act, the \u2018holy grail of pro-union labor reform\u2019 that organized labor and its allies on the Hill have been fighting for over two years to get passed. \u2026 Vance\u2019s skepticism of the PRO Act is part of a more fundamental skepticism that he harbors toward organized labor.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast Company<\/a>: \u201cVance also voted in favor of a resolution to strike down the NLRB\u2019s updated joint-employer rule, which would have given workers more leverage when organizing at companies<\/strong>\u2014like Amazon\u2014that rely heavily on third-party contractors, by forcing both employers to participate in labor negotiations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
