As JD Vance campaigns with Tucker Carlson in the aftermath of reporting on Donald Trump-endorsed North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson\u2019s history of hate, lies, and conspiracy theories,<\/em> DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYesterday, JD Vance refused to disavow Mark Robinson after he reportedly referred to himself as a \u2018Nazi\u2019 and praised Mein Kampf as \u2018a good read\u2019 and \u2018a real eye opener.\u2019 Today, Vance will take the stage with Tucker Carlson, a far-right extremist who platformed a Holocaust denier and echoes the worst elements of Trump\u2019s hateful agenda. The American people reject this type of vitriolic extremism, even if Donald Trump and Vance continue to embrace purveyors of hate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After failing to disavow Trump-endorsed NC gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson\u2019s history of spewing hateful rhetoric, JD Vance is doubling down by campaigning with Tucker Carlson, who recently elevated a Holocaust denier.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201c\u2018I\u2019m a black NAZI!\u2019: NC GOP nominee for governor made dozens of disturbing comments on porn forum\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cPorn site user linked to Mark Robinson also praised Hitler\u2019s Mein Kampf\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA porn site user linked to North Carolina gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson praised Adolf Hitler\u2019s book \u2018Mein Kampf\u2019 in addition to declaring himself a \u2018black NAZI,\u2019 according to screenshots obtained by The Washington Post. The user\u2019s posts on porn forum Nude Africa vanished Thursday, the same day that CNN reported on the many ways the account resembled Robinson. A person with access to the site before their deletion provided The Post with screenshots. \u2018Mein Kampf is a good read,\u2019 the user, dubbed \u2018minisoldr,\u2019 wrote in a thread seeking book recommendations. \u2018It\u2019s very informative and not at all what I thought it would be. It\u2019s a real eye opener.\u2019 The book, an autobiography by Hitler, casts Jews as an \u2018eternal parasite.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bulwark<\/a>: \u201cVance pre-recorded an interview with Tucker Carlson on Thursday<\/strong> just hours after the White House criticized the right-wing populist for featuring a historian who suggested, a few days before, that the Holocaust happened by accident.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson is a member of Vance\u2019s inner circle and rooted for Donald Trump to pick Vance as his running mate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cMr. Carlson was a key advocate in pressing Mr. Trump to name Mr. Vance as his running mate<\/strong>, ultimately drowning out other voices who wanted a more moderate or seasoned pick.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cThe former Fox News superstar [Tucker Carlson] used his prime-time show to promote Vance\u2019s Senate candidacy in 2022 and has remained one of his most ardent public supporters.<\/strong> Vance is a regular guest on Carlson\u2019s new platform\u2026 and Carlson reportedly personally lobbied Trump to pick Vance as his vice presidential candidate in the days leading up to the Republican National Convention.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson is an extreme election denier who spread the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen and attempted to whitewash the violence of January 6.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Poverty Law Center<\/a>: \u201cTwo days before Jan. 6, 2021, Carlson told his audience that the 2020 election was \u2018unfair\u2019 and had been rigged against then-President Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson<\/a>: \u201cIt’s very clear January 6th was essentially what it appeared to be: Thousands of ordinary American citizens, voters \u2013 people who believe in our democracy far more fervently than Liz Cheney ever has \u2013 came to Washington because they sincerely believed democracy had been thwarted. They believed the presidential election was unfair \u2013 and they have a right to believe that. And by the way, in many ways, they were correct. The presidential election was unfair. And you don\u2019t have to get into anything about voting machines to believe that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson<\/a>: \u201cThe overwhelming majority\u2026 were peaceful. They were orderly and meek. These were not insurrectionists. They were sightseers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson has endorsed the racist \u201cGreat Replacement\u201d theory and said that white supremacy is a \u201choax.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Poverty Law Center<\/a>: \u201cIn 2022, The New York Times studied Carlson\u2019s shows and found that in more than 400 out of 1,150 episodes of \u2018Tucker Carlson Tonight\u2019 from 2016-21, he pushed the suggestion that elites worked to change the demographics of the U.S. to disadvantage white people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson<\/a>: \u201cNow, I know that the left and all the little gatekeepers on Twitter become literally hysterical if you use the term \u2018replacement,\u2019 if you suggest that the Democratic Party is trying to replace the current electorate, the voters now casting ballots, with new people, more obedient voters from the Third World. But they become hysterical because that\u2019s what\u2019s happening actually. Let\u2019s just say it: That\u2019s true.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlson<\/a>: \u201c[White supremacy] is a hoax, just like the Russia hoax. It\u2019s a conspiracy theory used to divide the country and keep a hold on power. That\u2019s exactly what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Poverty Law Center<\/a>: \u201cThe white supremacist David Duke praised Carlson\u2019s embrace of \u2018great replacement\u2019 rhetoric in October 2021 on his radio show. <\/strong>Duke at one point asked, \u2018How can I be an evil guy?\u2019 for espousing the same things as a mainstream Fox News host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018It\u2019s really interesting that all of these things that Tucker is talking about now \u2013 Tucker\u2019s been around a long time, too,\u2019 Duke said of Carlson. \u2018He\u2019s been around from the 1990s, 2000s, and in his career, 2000s.
