In response to Project 2025 architect Kevin Roberts defending the extreme MAGA blueprint that Donald Trump and JD Vance are deeply connected to, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTake it from the chief Project 2025 architect himself: the MAGA extremists behind the dangerous blueprint are \u2018waiting for the policymaking season\u2019 and are \u2018never going to stop\u2019 as they continue working to give Donald Trump and JD Vance unprecedented and unchecked power to carry out their dangerous MAGA agenda. Project 2025 isn\u2019t just \u2018the conservative movement\u2019 \u2013 it\u2019s the Trump-Vance ticket\u2019s playbook to gut checks and balances, ban abortion nationwide, and rig the economy for billionaires and big corporations on the backs of the middle class. Trump and Vance can\u2019t run away from their Project 2025 agenda to take us backwards, and the American people will hold them accountable for their out-of-touch plans at the ballot box this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Roberts<\/a>: \u201cThey exist in a policy in a political lane and a political season, and we exist in a policy lane and are waiting for the policymaking season. […] We\u2019re never going to stop doing presidential transition projects at Heritage\u2026\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Gelles, New York Times: \u201c… Did you do a disservice to the conservative movement by putting the wish list out there?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roberts: \u201cNo, the project is the conservative movement.<\/strong> We\u2019ve got 111 conservative organizations that are part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMINDER: Project 2025 is \u201cundeniably a Trump-driven operation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation.<\/strong> The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump’s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere are some things in [Project 2025] that everybody would like.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cTrump claims not to know who is behind Project 2025. A CNN review found at least 140 people who worked for him are involved\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve reviewed a lot of [Project 2025]. There are some good ideas in there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vox<\/a>: \u201cVance is on record supporting these [Project 2025] ideas. Last year, he signed a letter demanding that the Justice Department prosecute physicians and pharmacists \u2018who break the Federal mail-order abortion laws.\u2019<\/strong> In 2022, he said he was \u2018sympathetic\u2019 to the idea that the federal government should stop efforts to help women traveling out of their states to get abortions. \u2026 The second controversial area where Vance is sympatico with Project 2025 is centralizing presidential power over the executive branch.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Corasaniti, New York Times<\/a>: \u201c[Roberts] reacted to the news [of Vance\u2019s VP selection] \u2018with a broad smile on my face\u2019 and said that \u2018privately, we were really rooting for him.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201c[Project 2025 architect Russell Vought] told POLITICO Magazine that he is in \u2018regular contact\u2019 with Vance\u2019s Hill office and that \u2018we probably have one of the closest relationships with [Vance\u2019s] office that we do with any Hill office.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump and Vance have repeatedly echoed extreme Project 2025 plans, which include banning abortion nationwide with or without Congress, cruel mass deportation schemes, mass firings of civil servants, and tax giveaways for billionaires and corporations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
