Ahead of the Trump campaign\u2019s appearance in Arizona today with Turning Point\u2019s Charlie Kirk, <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust last night, Donald Trump called the violent insurrection he rallied a \u2018day of love<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 and today his campaign is in Arizona to double down on their toxic election denialism with a group that bused people to the Capitol on January 6. Donald Trump and his mouthpieces have spent years pushing the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen \u2013 but voters in Arizona and across the country are sick of their dangerous, anti-democratic extremism. The American people rejected their toxic agenda four years ago, and they\u2019ll do the same thing again in just 19 days.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie Kirk\u2019s Turning Point USA infamously bused people to the Capitol on January 6, and he has continued helping Trump peddle the Big Lie.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNBC<\/a>: \u201c[Charlie] Kirk has continued to parrot the president\u2019s attacks on the election, falsely claiming Biden\u2019s victory was fraudulent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018I will say it very bluntly. This election was stolen from President Trump.<\/strong> And the changes to the election, to the ballot questions, to the voter registration, to the access problems in these states\u2019 Kirk said in December.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily Beast<\/a>: \u201cFollowing the events of Jan 6., Kirk deleted a tweet in which he touted that \u201880-plus buses full of patriots\u2019 were sent to Washington, D.C., on Turning Point USA\u2019s dime.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just last night, Donald Trump praised January 6 as a \u201cday of love,\u201d after previously calling the insurrection a \u201cbeautiful day\u201d and promising pardons for the rioters, who he calls \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump<\/a>: \u201cNothing done wrong at all. Nothing done wrong. […] That was a day of love.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cJanuary 6, it was the largest crowd I\u2019ve ever spoken to. And they were there proud, they were there with love in their heart. That was an unbelievable\u2014 and it was a beautiful day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel Scott, ABC News<\/a>: \u201c140 police officers were assaulted [on January 6].<\/strong> Their injuries included broken bones, at least one officer lost an eye, one had two cracked ribs, two smashed spinal discs, another had a stroke. Were the people who assaulted those 140 officers, including those I just mentioned, \u2018patriots\u2019 who deserve pardons?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Trump refuses to answer]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott: \u201cBut sir, my question is on those rioters who assaulted officers. Would you pardon those people?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump: \u201cOh absolutely I would. <\/strong>If they\u2019re innocent, I would pardon them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott: \u201cThey\u2019ve been convicted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cTrump describes imprisoned Jan. 6 rioters as \u2018hostages\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThose people were treated very harshly [\u2026] nobody was killed on January 6. But I think that the people on January 6 were treated very unfairly<\/strong> [\u2026] they were there to complain about an election, and you know it\u2019s very interesting, the biggest crowd I\u2019ve ever spoken to.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cTrump vows pardons, government apology to Capitol rioters if elected\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TIME<\/a>: \u201cTrump has sought to recast the insurrectionist riot as an act of patriotism. \u2018I call them the J-6 patriots,\u2019 Trump tells TIME. When asked whether he would consider pardoning every one of them, he says: \u2018Yes, absolutely.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Donald Trump promised Wednesday night that if he is elected he will pardon a \u2018large portion\u2019 of the people convicted of federal offenses for their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump, who is vowing to be a dictator on \u201cday one,\u201d told voters they \u201cwon\u2019t have to vote anymore\u201d if he\u2019s elected president\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cYou won\u2019t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what \u2013 it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won\u2019t have to vote anymore.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 as he continues to push baseless lies about his 2020 loss by over seven million votes, and refuses to commit to accepting this November\u2019s results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interviewer<\/a>: \u201cThere have been other close races and men have said, \u2018listen, for the betterment of the country, we\u2019re going to move on, we\u2019re going to accept the results of the election.\u2019 Would that have been the right course of action?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump: \u201cNo, it would\u2019ve been a terrible thing.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
