The American people are already seeing the dangers of Trump abortion bans in real time \u2014 and will make sure the Trump-Vance ticket can\u2019t take their horrifying agenda nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump \u201cproudly\u201d overturned <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> and paved the way for extreme abortion bans across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI was proudly the person responsible for the ending of \u2026 <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me<\/strong>, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: 22 states across the country currently have abortion bans.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TRUMP DID THIS: Reporting shows that abortion bans across the country \u2014 which Trump said are \u201cworking very brilliantly\u201d \u2014 are delaying emergency medical care and leading to \u201cpreventable\u201d deaths.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut ProPublica obtained reports that confirm that at least two women have already died after they couldn\u2019t access legal abortions and timely medical care in their state\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThurman\u2019s case marks the first time an abortion-related death, officially deemed \u2018preventable,\u2019 is coming to public light. ProPublica will share the story of the second in the coming days\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut since abortion was banned or restricted in 22 states over the past two years, women in serious danger have been turned away from emergency rooms and told that they needed to be in more peril before doctors could help. <\/strong>Some have been forced to continue high-risk pregnancies that threatened their lives. Those whose pregnancies weren\u2019t even viable have been told they could return when they were \u2018crashing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump, JD Vance, and MAGA Republicans are pushing an extreme anti-choice Project 2025 agenda to ban abortion nationwide \u2014 with or without Congress \u2014 and is promising anti-choice extremists will \u201calways have a seat\u201d at their table.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Vance: \u201cMy view is that Donald Trump is the leader of the Republican Party and his views on abortion are going to be the views that dominate this party and drive this party forward.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c[Project 2025] explicitly names their intention not just to rescind FDA approval for the abortion pill if they regain control of the White House in 2024, but to revive a 150-year-old law that criminalizes sending or receiving through the mail any \u201carticle, instrument, substance, drug, medicine or thing\u201d that could be used to facilitate an abortion. That law, the Comstock Act, is viewed as a de facto federal abortion ban by reproductive rights advocates and anti-abortion activists alike\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe attacks on mifepristone and resurrection of Comstock stand out as particularly harmful proposals, but they are only two of the dozens of ways the Republicans behind Project 2025 envision restricting access to abortion and contraception if they win the White House next year.<\/strong> Elsewhere in the document, there are proposals to eliminate the morning-after pill from the Affordable Care Act\u2019s contraceptive mandate under the rationale that it is a \u2018potential abortifacient.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThis is undeniably a Trump-driven operation.<\/strong> The biggest tell: Johnny McEntee \u2014 one of Trump’s closest White House aides, and his most fervent internal loyalty enforcer \u2014 is a senior adviser to Project 2025. One of the most powerful architects is Stephen Miller, a top West Wing adviser for the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cRoberts told me that he views Heritage\u2019s role today as \u2018institutionalizing Trumpism.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cOrganizations including Heritage, former Vice President Mike Pence\u2019s group Advancing American Freedom, and the Southern Baptist Convention\u2019s public advocacy-focused Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission <\/strong>have worked behind the scenes over the last few weeks to distribute talking points, circulate policy recommendations and educate Republican officials and their staff about their ethical concerns with how IVF is commonly practiced in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance\u2019s anti-choice record includes wanting abortion to be \u201cillegal nationally,\u201d celebrating Trump\u2019s overturning of <\/strong>Roe<\/em><\/strong>, attacking exceptions for rape and incest, and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring a podcast interview in January 2022, then-candidate JD Vance said he \u2018certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally\u2019 and was \u2018sympathetic\u2019 to the view that a national ban was necessary to stop women from traveling across states to obtain an abortion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily Beast<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance suggested he would support prohibiting abortion even in cases of rape and incest\u2014and dismissed those catalysts as \u2018inconvenient.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance Compared Abortion to Slavery\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cDuring his campaign for Senate, Vance applauded the overturning of Roe v. Wade and supported Texas\u2019s ban on abortion, which does not allow exceptions other than cases where the mother\u2019s life is at risk.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Two wrongs don\u2019t make a right,\u2019 he said in 2021 when asked whether abortion laws should allow for exceptions for rape and incest.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think that what I really think on \u2013 so first of all, the <\/strong>Dobbs<\/em><\/strong> decision, everybody knows, overruled <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 I think that was the right decision.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
