From <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/ccf.georgetown.edu\/2025\/01\/15\/cuts-to-medicaid-will-shift-costs-to-families-providers-and-will-be-especially-harmful-to-rural-communities\/\"><em>slashing<\/em><\/a><em> rural health care access to <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/westvirginiawatch.com\/2025\/03\/31\/medicaid-cuts-could-hurt-older-adults-who-rely-on-home-care-nursing-homes\/\"><em>forcing<\/em><\/a><em> seniors out of nursing homes, Trump and Republicans are turning their backs on the American people.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW: Donald Trump\u2019s billionaire-first budget is wildly unpopular with the American people \u2014 especially the GOP\u2019s massive cuts to Medicaid:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/press-release\/poll-public-views-big-beautiful-bill-unfavorably-by-nearly-a-2-1-margin-democrats-independents-and-non-maga-republicans-oppose-it-while-maga-supporters-favor-it-favorability-ero\/\">overwhelming majority<\/a> of Americans disapprove of Trump\u2019s budget bill, by a 2-1 margin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/press-release\/poll-public-views-big-beautiful-bill-unfavorably-by-nearly-a-2-1-margin-democrats-independents-and-non-maga-republicans-oppose-it-while-maga-supporters-favor-it-favorability-ero\/\">72%<\/a> of adults say they are concerned that more adults and children will become uninsured because of the bill\u2019s changes to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act \u2014 including nearly half of Republicans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/deportation-immigration-opinion-poll\/\">60%<\/a> of Americans believe that Trump\u2019s bill will help the ultra-wealthy, while 54% of believe it will hurt low-income communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When people hear about the bill\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/press-release\/poll-public-views-big-beautiful-bill-unfavorably-by-nearly-a-2-1-margin-democrats-independents-and-non-maga-republicans-oppose-it-while-maga-supporters-favor-it-favorability-ero\/\">drastic health care cuts<\/a>, support shrinks and opposition grows \u2014 including among Trump\u2019s own supporters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After being told that the bill would decrease funding for local hospitals, favorability of the bill falls to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/press-release\/poll-public-views-big-beautiful-bill-unfavorably-by-nearly-a-2-1-margin-democrats-independents-and-non-maga-republicans-oppose-it-while-maga-supporters-favor-it-favorability-ero\/\">21%<\/a> while unfavorability rises to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/press-release\/poll-public-views-big-beautiful-bill-unfavorably-by-nearly-a-2-1-margin-democrats-independents-and-non-maga-republicans-oppose-it-while-maga-supporters-favor-it-favorability-ero\/\">79%<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senate Republicans released their portion of Trump\u2019s billionaire-first budget bill, which includes massive cuts to Medicaid.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/06\/16\/senate-gop-one-big-beautiful-bill-text-taxes-medicaid-cuts\">Axios<\/a>: <strong>\u201cSenate Finance Committee Republicans published their<\/strong> <strong>text of President Trump\u2019s \u2018one big, beautiful bill\u2019 <\/strong>Monday evening, which <strong>includes major tax reforms and even steeper Medicaid cuts than the House called for.\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/burgessev\/status\/1934656190866223177?s=46&amp;t=xm-twpB0gxygAStckNc2bA\">Burgess Everett, Semafor<\/a>: \u201cNew: <strong>The Senate will be MORE aggressive in seeking savings from Medicaid than the House reconciliation bill.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/06\/16\/congress\/senate-gop-tax-bill-would-hit-politically-explosive-medicaid-provision-00408630\">Politico<\/a>: <strong>\u201cThe Senate Finance Committee\u2019s newly released draft would incrementally lower the allowable provider tax in Medicaid expansion states starting in 2027 from the current 6 percent until it hits 3.5 percent in 2031.
