In response to Donald Trump flip-flopping on his love for Elon Musk, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump spent months praising Elon Musk\u2019s slash and burn operation that threatened access to Social Security and veterans benefits while gutting hundreds of other critical programs. Now, he\u2019s waking up to the reality that the American people overwhelmingly<\/a> hate his devastating cuts and is attacking Musk\u2019s efforts. But, we have the receipts. Trump repeatedly endorsed the cuts Musk and his so-called Department of Government Efficiency made \u2014 and now he\u2019s running scared from his record.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHOT: Yesterday, Donald Trump attacked Elon Musk\u2019s efforts at DOGE, saying he would\u2019ve done things \u201cdifferently\u201d\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump<\/a>: \u201cNo, no, look, look we cut hundreds of billions of dollars with DOGE. We could\u2019ve done it differently. I would\u2019ve done it differently a little bit maybe.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHASER: \u2026 after spending months heaping praise on Musk and DOGE\u2019s work, saying it was \u201cwithout comparison in modern history.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump<\/a>: \u201c[Elon Musk] stepped forward to put his very great talents into the service of our nation, and we appreciate it. <\/strong>And I just want to say that Elon has worked tirelessly, helping lead the most <\/strong>sweeping and consequential government reform program in generations. <\/strong>And you know the kinds of things that he’s found and his people have found. \u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cElon\u2019s service to America has been without comparison in modern history.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI think [Musk\u2019s] done an amazing job. <\/strong>I think his people have done an incredible job. They\u2019re brilliant people.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201c[Musk,] you\u2019ve really been a tremendous help.<\/strong> You opened up a lot of eyes as to what can be done. And we just want to thank you very much and, you know, you\u2019re invited to stay as long as you want.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
