Donald Trump is steering the economy in the wrong direction, and Black Americans are being hit hardest. Prices are rising, job prospects are disappearing, and real wages are shrinking. The cost of everything \u2014 from groceries to housing \u2014 is going up, and Black voters are seeing firsthand<\/a> how Trump\u2019s economic agenda is making life more expensive and more uncertain. For Black women, this is particularly noticeable, with roughly 300,000<\/a> leaving the labor market due to federal policy changes in the last three months alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it\u2019s no surprise that <\/strong>74%<\/strong><\/a> of Black voters say Trump\u2019s policies are making them financially worse off. <\/strong>86%<\/strong><\/a> say his policies are driving up the cost of food and groceries, and a growing number of Black households are feeling the pressure.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, DNC Senior Spokesperson Marcus W. Robinson released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s economy is leaving Black families behind while he caters to billionaires and corporate interests. From rising food prices to disappearing job opportunities, Black voters are feeling the squeeze \u2014 and Trump is nowhere to be found when it comes to real solutions. Let\u2019s be clear: Trump promised to help working people, but all he\u2019s done is make life more expensive while enriching himself and the wealthy few around him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working families are being forced to make tough decisions as inflation continues to eat into their budgets. The economy is showing early signs of stagflation \u2014 slowing growth paired with rising prices \u2014 and Black voters know exactly who\u2019s to blame. Only 3% of Black voters say the economy is getting better, and 71% say it\u2019s getting worse, according to <\/strong>Economist\/YouGov<\/strong><\/a> polling. According to <\/strong>Fox News<\/strong><\/a> polling, 76% of Black voters say Trump has made the economy worse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump can\u2019t spin his way out of the facts. 88% of Black voters describe the economy as negative, and 76% say it\u2019s a bad time to find a quality job, according to <\/strong>Washington Post\/Ipsos<\/strong><\/a> polling.<\/strong> For working Black Americans, Trump\u2019s return to the White House has meant more financial stress, not less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The numbers on Trump\u2019s handling of inflation and the cost of living are just as damning. In CBS<\/a> polling, Trump\u2019s net approval on inflation is -80 points, with just 10% of Black voters approving and 90% disapproving. Economist\/YouGov<\/a> shows a similar trend: 86% of Black voters disapprove of how Trump is handling inflation and prices. 85%<\/a> disapprove of how he\u2019s handling the cost of living, and 86%<\/a> oppose his tariffs, which are making everyday goods more expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s economic policies are failing Black families \u2014 and they know it. While Trump and Republicans reward billionaires and corporations, Black voters are stuck dealing with rising costs, declining opportunities, and growing inequality. That\u2019s why poll after poll shows Black voters overwhelmingly reject Trump\u2019s economic agenda \u2014 because they\u2019re living with the consequences every day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
