Estimates show that Trump\u2019s billionaire-first budget bill tax cut costs more than 10 times<\/a> as much as it would to extend expanded ACA premium tax credits. Because of Republicans\u2019 refusal to extend the tax credits, working families will pay an additional $1,016<\/a>, on average, in premiums next year \u2014 more than doubling what the average family pays currently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s \u2018signature achievement\u2019 is the largest wealth transfer from the working and middle class to the ultra-rich: the richest 1% of Americans alone will benefit more<\/a> than the bottom 80% of Americans, and for every millionaire who gets an $80,000 tax cut, four Americans will lose<\/a> health care. Under Trump, the rich are getting even richer while working families are getting thrown under the bus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, DNC Communications Director Rosemary Boeglin released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe betrayal of Americans couldn\u2019t be more brazen: Trump is selling out working and middle-class families \u2014 all so he can hand out massive tax cuts to the ultra-rich. He already gutted Medicaid, and now, if Republicans get their way, 22 million Americans will see their health insurance premiums skyrocket next year by an average of 114%. Trump\u2019s billionaire-first budget bill tax cut costs more than 10 TIMES as much as it would to extend expanded ACA premium tax credits \u2013 proof that his agenda is all about taking from working Americans to give to the 1%. Democrats are fighting to protect health care, lower costs, and avert the government shutdown.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s \u201cbillionaire-first\u201d budget bill cut $1 trillion from Medicaid \u2014 the largest health care cut in history \u2014 all while handing out tax breaks to the ultra-rich.
