{"id":1072,"date":"2017-01-07T17:24:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-07T17:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/democrats.org\/blog\/2017\/01\/07\/dnc-announces-moderators-additional-details-for-dnc-future-forum-series\/"},"modified":"2024-05-23T20:19:30","modified_gmt":"2024-05-23T20:19:30","slug":"dnc-announces-moderators-additional-details-for-dnc-future-forum-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/democrats.org\/news\/dnc-announces-moderators-additional-details-for-dnc-future-forum-series\/","title":{"rendered":"DNC Announces Moderators, Additional Details for DNC Future Forum Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON &ndash; Today, the Democratic National Committee announced moderators for the DNC&rsquo;s Future Forum series, which will feature candidates for DNC Chair and other DNC offices.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first DNC Future Forum, which will take place in <strong>Phoenix, Arizona<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday, January 14<\/strong> at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, will be moderated by <strong>Jon Ralston of the Nevada Independent<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The second DNC Future Forum, which will take place in <strong>Houston, Texas<\/strong>&nbsp;on <strong>Saturday, January 28<\/strong> at Texas Southern University Sawyer Auditorium will be moderated by <strong>Evan Smith of the Texas Tribune<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The third DNC Future Forum, which will take place in <strong>Detroit, Michigan<\/strong>&nbsp;on <strong>Saturday, February 4<\/strong> at Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium, will be moderated by <strong>Ron Fournier of Crain&rsquo;s Detroit Business<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The fourth DNC Future Forum, which will take place in <strong>Baltimore, Maryland<\/strong>&nbsp;on <strong>Saturday, February 11<\/strong> at the Baltimore Convention Center, will be moderated by <strong>April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe DNC Future Forums will be full-day affairs and are expected to begin at 9 a.m. local time and end at approximately 6 p.m. local time. The first part of the day will feature presentations, success stories, and looking ahead to opportunities on the horizon. The second part of the day will feature three forums: one for Chair candidates, one for Vice Chair candidates, and one for Treasurer, Finance Chair, and Secretary candidates.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nA detailed schedule for each DNC Future Forum will be released prior to each of the forums. The schedule will include a solicitation for media to RSVP to each specific forum.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe DNC Future Forums will be open to the press and the public and will be livestreamed for maximum audience participation.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe election of the DNC Chair, Vice Chairs, and other officers will be held during the DNC&rsquo;s Spring Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday, February 23 &ndash; Sunday, February 26.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nCandidates for Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, or Finance Chair who wish to participate in one of the upcoming forums must declare their intention to participate by close of business on the Monday prior to the forum.
