RepublicansSenators&nbsp;are feeling the heat in their home states, so much so that Senate Majority Leader McConnell has been forced to delay a&nbsp;vote&nbsp;until after the July 4<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;recess.<\/p>\n<p>With the CBO&rsquo;s confirmation that the GOP&nbsp;health&nbsp;care&nbsp;repeal&nbsp;bill&nbsp;is a disaster, it is clear that this&nbsp;bill&nbsp;hurts everyone from women and children, to middle-class families and older Americans, to people with pre-existing conditions and veterans.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Here are some of the headlines&nbsp;Republican&nbsp;senators&nbsp;are reading today:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>OHIO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2017\/06\/26\/533973916\/after-decline-of-steel-and-coal-ohio-fears-health-care-jobs-are-next&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1500051274328000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEZuTpohJIGpNnMWyw7InWLcJsgUw\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2017\/06\/26\/533973916\/after-decline-of-steel-and-coal-ohio-fears-health-care-jobs-are-next\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>NPR:<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;After Decline Of Steel And Coal, Ohio Fears&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Care&nbsp;Jobs Are Next<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;1 in 4 private sector jobs in the county are now in&nbsp;health&nbsp;care. The region&#39;s biggest employer by far is the local hospital. Trinity&nbsp;Health&nbsp;System provides about 1,500 full-time jobs and close to 500 part-time jobs, more than Jefferson County&#39;s top 10 manufacturing companies combined.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Still, unemployment in Jefferson County stands at 7 percent, 2 percent higher than the state overall. And&nbsp;health&nbsp;careleaders worry that the&nbsp;Republican&nbsp;proposals to&nbsp;repeal&nbsp;and replace the Affordable&nbsp;Care&nbsp;Act could take many&nbsp;health&nbsp;carejobs away.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Specifically, they&#39;re concerned about the rollback of Medicaid that is central to both the House and Senate bills. Cincinnati Children&#39;s is the 11th largest employer in Ohio and the second largest in the Cincinnati region, with more than 15,000 workers.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;&lsquo;We do not believe this legislation, as written, will meet the&nbsp;health&nbsp;needs of all kids,&rsquo; Fisher&rsquo;s letter said. &lsquo;Because kids don&#39;t&nbsp;vote, they often don&rsquo;t have a voice in politics. Long-term funding for Medicaid is under threat from the new&nbsp;bill. Citizens are hoping this will lead to Capito joining a slowly growing number of&nbsp;Republican&nbsp;senators&nbsp;who have said they won&rsquo;t&nbsp;vote&nbsp;for the&nbsp;bill&nbsp;as is.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One woman at the rally, Barbara Schau, has worked as a nurse for 40 years. She said the&nbsp;bill&nbsp;has several problems.
