New polling shows their plan is extremely unpopular because it helps the wealthy and big corporations at the expense of the middle class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Very few Americans think the Republican tax plan is a good idea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Just&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/most-americans-are-skeptical-or-uncertain-about-gop-tax-plan-poll-finds-1509483674\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">25%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans say the Republican tax plan is a good idea.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/10\/31\/trump-tax-plan-has-lackluster-public-support-poll-says.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">14%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans believe they&rsquo;ll get a tax cut.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">63%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans are concerned that the Republican tax cuts would increase the deficit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Americans disapprove of key components of the Republican tax plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">17%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans want to cut taxes for large corporations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">12%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans want to cut taxes for the wealthy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Americans know the rich will benefit the most from the Republican tax plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">56%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans think Trump&rsquo;s tax ideas will benefit the rich.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">42%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans think Trump will raise their taxes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Americans don&rsquo;t believe Republican lies that their tax cuts will help the economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/most-back-tax-cut-for-middle-class-tax-increase-on-wealthy-and-corporations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">57%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans don&rsquo;t believe Trump and Republicans that corporate tax cuts create jobs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/10\/31\/trump-tax-plan-has-lackluster-public-support-poll-says.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">19%<\/a>&nbsp;of Americans say the Republican tax bill will significantly improve the economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Republican tax plan is off to a very rocky start.
