At the beginning of this week, Trump had tallied 3,001 false or misleading claims since taking office.  By Wednesday, we learned that Trump had dictated<\/a> his doctor’s absurd 2015 letter vouching for his “extraordinary” health.  Last night, we got confirmation of another big one: that Trump flat-out lied<\/a> about being unaware of the Stormy Daniels hush payment.  As Trump’s legal team goes on offense to prevent him from committing perjury, it’s worth asking: what else is he lying about?<\/p>\n

In the 466 days since he took the oath of office, President Trump has made 3,001 false or misleading claims, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That’s an average of nearly 6.5 claims a day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When we first started this project for the president’s first 100 days, he averaged 4.9 claims a day. Slowly, the average number of claims has been creeping up.<\/p>\n

Indeed, since we last updated this tally two months ago, the president has averaged about 9 claims a day.<\/p>\n
