Earlier this year, Republicans in Congress voted to <\/span><a data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/powerpost\/house-passes-changes-to-americans-with-disabilities-act-over-activists-objections\/2018\/02\/15\/c812c9ea-125b-11e8-9065-e55346f6de81_story.html?utm_term%3D.e10d48a44904&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1529779657623000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGg4glZTXtvMHE-jH6bjV_XETODFg\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/powerpost\/house-passes-changes-to-americans-with-disabilities-act-over-activists-objections\/2018\/02\/15\/c812c9ea-125b-11e8-9065-e55346f6de81_story.html?utm_term=.e10d48a44904\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">undermine the critical protections of the ADA<\/a> that allow millions of Americans to live independently with meaningful access to jobs, businesses, and educational opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_5053715313425533660gmail-docs-internal-guid-d9c87490-28c4-e084-cb1b-dade329e8dd9\">&ldquo;While we have made progress toward equal inclusion for all Americans with disabilities, the harsh reality is that many individuals are still denied their right to live in the least restrictive environment and are unnecessarily segregated in institutions and nursing homes. That&rsquo;s why Democrats are fighting to protect the promise of <\/span>Olmstead by ensuring that all Americans, including individuals with disabilities, have every chance to enjoy a dignified quality of life.
