While new court filings accuse the Trump administration of cruel abuse of immigrant children separated from their parents, the administration continues to summon toddlers for deportation proceedings and discourage asylum seekers from looking to the United States for protection. The anti-immigrant agenda of the Trump administration is clear – and Democrats will fight it every step of the way. <\/span><\/p>\n

New reports allege horrific abuse of immigrant children kept in government care: <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Huffington Post<\/a><\/span>: “According to a court filing, Keylin says the female guards also made girls ‘strip naked’ in front of them before taking a shower, so they could leer at their bodies (her mother, Daise, corroborated her daughter’s account in a statement she gave to a lawyer). She adds that guards called the group of migrants ‘filthy’ and ‘made fun of us.’<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Keylin barely ate because she says <\/span>the food was frozen, and she wasn’t given a toothbrush or toothpaste. Though she says the cells were so cold that she shivered and developed pain in her leg, the teen kept quiet. The guards said that anyone with an injury would be detained longer, and she couldn’t take that chance.”  <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Associated Press<\/a><\/span>: “Younger children cried in caged areas where they were crammed in with teens, and they clamored for their parents. Toilets were filthy, and running water was scarce, they say. They waited, unsure and frightened of what the future might bring.”<\/p>\n

Some children are forced to deportation proceedings without their parents: <\/span><\/p>\n

Texas Tribune<\/a><\/span>: “The Trump administration has summoned at least 70 infants to immigration court for their own deportation proceedings since Oct. 1, according to Justice Department data provided to Kaiser Health News.”<\/p>\n

Daily Mail<\/a><\/span>: “Attorneys for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are still attempting to deport immigrant children – alone – despite Trump administration claims that it is doing all it can to reunite them with their parents, DailyMail.com has learned.”<\/p>\n
